KiwiM

Trevor Allan (34)
RTS (Roger Tuivasa-Sheck) to play midfield for the Blues.

I have doubts whether that is his best spot but time will tell - of the two midfield options I think he could better suited to 13 than 12 (think Perese).

Be intersting to see where he plays Kiwi, I must admit never seen him play as I don't watch league, but would be interesting to see f he struck up a good partnership with Reiko and where it took them.

To me he's a bit on the small side to play 12 from an AB point of view - he could get away with it at Super - but i'd rather he play a position in Super that they see him playing at test level.

Rangi saying he will be playing 12, he was going to start on wing in NPC , but will be at 12.

All very strong NZ squads and Pacifika looks pretty decent for a new franchise.

Its going to be a very tough challenge for the Aussie sides to knock over a few more wins than the one only from last year.

Pity about the long-term injuries for the Landers, who look a bit thin at Lock and wing.
Jona Nareki and Pari Pari Parkinson are huge misses at Super level , Nareki, in particular, running amok this year.
But what about freedom vahaakolo? He's always played well, even last year before he got injured.

Excited about RTS (Roger Tuivasa-Sheck). Physically, Roger might be more gifted than anyone except perhaps Reiko. He's not the tallest - 182 or 183. But he's robust, probably will end up around 100kgs. Most of all he's tremendously balanced as a runner. He's primed to play as a 12 - I really do wonder if 12 is the right spot for him, it's quite different from his role as a league FB. I wonder if he's worried about out-and-out pace as a winger at 28 and after quite an attritional career, but we could do with a Cory Jane equivalent on one of the wings, someone who is very sound under the high ball (which RTS (Roger Tuivasa-Sheck) is) and has the ability to beat the first defender (which RTS (Roger Tuivasa-Sheck) does).

After looking at the squads a bit more , I have a bit of a laugh to myself, look at the Chiefs, you think bugger me they would be bloody hard to beat, then do same for Blues you think exactly the same, ditto the Crusaders bloody hell 11 ABs and Matera from Pumas, so I'll give you my firm opinion of which is favourite about June next year? ;) :D
Clan could be a little down with injuries at lock as Jeffery rightly says, and Canes (it tough being a Canes man) welldoesn't really inspire a lot of confidence, I think they ok at lock and loosies, a little concerned about props with Franks gone. Backs TJP is still good for this level of rugby, and hopefully Jamie Booth back from start of season, 3rd 9 is out for half a season already, and I just still not convinced our 10s are quite there. Rest of backline is ok to with a couple of very good (Jordie etc) players. MP (Moana Pasifika) I like look of their squad, though a little light in front row and lock to me.

Been watching that young Lio-Willie for Otago, looks like not a bad young fella to me.

Tikoisolomone was awesome for the 'naki but Vahaakolo was pretty good for Otago & has (limited) Super Rugby experience so maybe unlucky to miss out. Agree wrt Lio-Willie, good backup for Mikaele-Tu'u. Tomkinson being out possibly reduces Clan's Card count for the year;)

I thought Freedom Vahaakolo was unlucky to miss a super squad to WOB, actually can say same about D'Angelo Leuila from Waikato, he has played a few tests for Samoa, and looked a good fit for Moana Pasifika covering 10-15, but seems he hasn't got contract.

Yep, I am actually surprised that Canes have got him, as he handy just in case, but is he only contracted preseason?
