All Asian Staring Championships, pairs event, semi final number 1
no breaks in play, automatic disqualification, one time out per team between sets; as you know, bladder control is one of the key elements in successful competition staring. as the higher seeded team, the white shirts are allowed to dispense with the suit and tie, the highest seeded individual is also allowed to dispense with eye glasses, thereby diminishing visual acuity and blink propensity. the lowest ranked competitor (Blue suit #2) has no ranking points and not allowed any visual distractors. note the clever game play by Blue suit #1, having forgone a higher stack of paper for the gold tipped pen. if the White shirts prevail in the semi, the Grand master will have accumulated enough bonus points and be allowed to use a Maneki Neko in the final (best of 5 sets).
haha, genuine lol right there. That's not what I meant when I said you should try "planking".
Can someone who does the gym actually explain what Slips is doing in that one? Is that thing he is standing on some sort of band (elastic?) or a frame or something else entirely? And is the bar tethered at the right hand end to another weight? Also, why?
Not a fan myself. Form with deadlifts is incredibly important and you inevitably lose it the harder and faster you lift. Although, i guess Slipper has every expert in the universe watching him.Its an explosiveness drill. In short, the addition of bands means the lift gets harder as it progresses towards completion due to the tension increasing from the band stretching. So it forces the lifter to accelerate earlier in the lift as it makes it easier to finish the lift. In other words, instead of completing the lift at a steady speed, it forces the lifter to "explode" to complete.
At least that's the theory.
