Game plan finally comes together.

Taking a shot at the G&GR player ratings:
Slipper - 4, not really effective
Moore - 6, did his job well, not a standout
Alexander - 5, got better as the game went on after a meh start
Simmons - 5, would be 6 but for his card
Horwill - 6, worked really hard off the ball
Fardy - 8, our best forward, doing everything
Hooper - 7, great runs, steals and tackles
Mowen - 6, good tackles and runs
Genia - 8, amazing return to form
Cooper - 7, great work from Cooper, interchanged well with all backs
Tomane - 7, his best game to date, a threat every time
Lealiifano - 5, didn't do too much but wasn't poor either
Kuridrani - 7, great work in attack and defence
Ashley-Cooper - 7, a real work horse
Folau - 8, try machine, some slips in defence but otherwise great

Fainga'a - 5, didn't play badly
Robinson - 8, made the scrum work, good steals and a try
Kepu - 5, just as good as Alexander
Timani - 6, played as well as Simmons but didn't get carded
McCalman - 5, no real impact but did his work
White - Didn't play for long enough
To'omua - 6, good in attack and defence
Foley - 6, good first test

RoffsChoice, others wont agree, but I think you've nailed it!

I think it's criminal how Slipper has been consistently picked ahead of Robinson all competition. There has been no justification for it at all.

And Foley played long enough to get a 6?
In the short time you noticed Foley, where as White might as well have not been there.

I feel it's fair to praise Foley for doing work with little time, but not to criticise White for not getting through as much work.

And Foley played long enough to get a 6?

Aren't the ratings about performance whilst on the field and not total minutes played? 9 points in (how long?), maybe 9 minutes?
It's not that RoffsChoice is saying he should get the 3,2,or 1!!

Exactly, rate the player on what they did with their time. Foley did well with his cameo, but could never have more impact than, say, Cooper.

1 - 10 is a prett silly rating system for rugby. When was the last time someone got a 2? Even guys that have absolute shockers?

1 - 5 is better - Very Poor, Poor, Average, Good, Very Good.

And "unrated" for players playing too little time.

I agree hugh, I don't think people do ratings well. 5 should be the average rating, meaning in a loss you'd think half the team gets <5.

would love to see this, and I'd wager that we will one day soon:

9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Tomane
12. To'omua
13. Folau
14. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
15. Lilo

Izzy played great at 15 but Foley strikes me that he could be a really smart 15. I would love to see Cooper and Foley on the field with Izzy on the wing. We may get to see this on the Spring tour. Anyone seen Foley play Fullback? Kiudrani played great at 13. Link please leave him there.

Absolutely shocking game from both sides. Just couldn't bare to watch it through.

Well done wobbs (incl. link). A resounding result when it was needed. Was it our best ever win over the argies?, surely yes give it was away from home.

I'm not going to grumble too much, but a critical viewing will still see much for us to improve on, and possible criticise the argies for getting sucked into our style of game. That's for later. For now, relief is close enough to joy.
