Eddies were dreadful today, shocked to see just how poorly they performed, last time I watched this school they were competing for premierships (2011-2014), what has happened there? Padua certainly well coached and a level above the opposition.

Eddies came second in 2022. Very dependent on personnel available.
Looks like things have gone down hill since David Miles left, I can remember him being the reason the culture shifted at that school which brought them success, they should look to be investing in a new coach because recent results are far from acceptable.

Huge turnaround for the Marist Opens’ yesterday. For the Year 12 cohort this was only the second time they’ve ever beaten Iona. After last year’s disaster when the Ashgrove 1sts, 2nds and 3rds all lost out at Wynnum, yesterday was a massive improvement.

Yep, I see that Marist also won the A and B grade games for Years 8-10, so a very good day for the MCA rugby program.

Iona’s First XV should not be judged on their Ballymore Cup results, no idea what went on there but they are a physically big/strong side who take their chances when presented and I expect them to be very competitive at home against both SLC (this coming Saturday) and Padua a bit later on.

They’ve got Padua at home next weekend and then Lauries at home in Round 6.

Needs to be a whole school approach, not just the 1st XV. If they can have a program that works from 7-12, building skills and physical capabilities then you'll see the results.

Agree, it’s a culture issue at the moment but from memory Miles changed things within a few seasons. Interested to know what’s been done since he left to try and maintain the standards he set.
