QLD Colts 2024

I know it's not Colts One - but the crowd and atmosphere at Wynnum's Elanora Park last night for the Tuckey Cup Colts 4 grand final was next level. The Bugs edged out UQ 5-0 in a cracking game. Colts 4 is attractive to a lot of Colts 1 quality players who work Saturdays (or can't be bothered giving up their Saturdays). It shows again that club rugby is not dead by any stretch - even at non-prems clubs like Wynnum.

Agreed - watched the Live Stream - quality game of footy and the crowd looked mental for a Colts 4 GF. Well done Wynnum!

Norths beat the filth for the first time in 13 years. Brothers coach went straight to the ref and started whinging as soon as the final whistle sounded. Very poor sportsmanship. He then left the ground very quickly, maybe to go home and work on his resume as they won’t make finals now. Hopefully some of the Norths juniors that are at Crosby may reconsider what they are doing for next year and come back to the nest.

What a round of footy we have this weekend! A possible Grand Final preview between Souths and Wests. What a game this will be, very physical high skill. Additionally we have a finals play off between the Students - UQ and Bond Uni at St Lucia. With both teams on 41 points (in 4th and 5th). Whoever wins that battle will make the finals. And lastly, Easts vs Norths - based off both teams forms, this will be a cracking game alongside with Norths potentially butting their way into the finals if they take the win against an inform Easts team. Very keen for this week.
Predictions:
Wests to get a slight win over Souths
Bond to cause a great upset against UQ and knock them out
Norths to rise to the occasion and get the win, making finals
and Brothers to beat GPS to finish their dismal season

I’m lead to believe that Norths Colts 1 haven’t made finals since they last won the colts in 1994. Any truth to this?

I wouldn't be certain but what an amazing achievement for Norths if thats the case. It might be the same timeline since UQ haven't made the finals

I’m hearing reports out of Crosby that the players aren’t happy with the coach and haven’t been for a while.
is it also arrogance on brothers part because they won it last year??
They definitely underestimated Norths and it has cost them big time!!
NO FINALS FOR YOU

Quite amazing after watching this team a few times this year I would not have picked that there were so many rep players. Maybe the rep selectors are picking the wrong boys.

I’d say that is a definite not a maybe. No wonder the Reds U16’s, 18’s and 19’s can‘t beat the Waratahs ……..When will they learn?

I watched the Norths vs Easts colts game yesterday the 6 from Norths deserves a shot.
Been very good all year.

What a very disappointing year for the two typically strong clubs of Colts 1 - UQ and Brothers. Brothers seem to have dropped off in their strong rankings as both their Colts 2 and 1 failed to make finals; whilst UQ's Colts 1 side where the only ones weirdly missing out on finals in their program. Huge questions will be asked about the coaching for both of these strong clubs to understand how it went wrong. Without taking it away from them, a very deserved finals appearance for Bond and Wests who did not make it last year - especially for Wests with such a strong resurge. Will be a great finals series

When results are finalised in Xplorer - I think you will find the Brothers Colts 2 made the finals. Game on Sat was a winner takes all for 4th spot.
