As a Sunnybank supporter, I wish them all the best and a new premier coach is very welcomed.*Mail Bag* - Expect a new head coach at Sunnybank next season. Not that Rob Riori hasn't done a good job of getting his Dragons back on an upward trajectory, yet with a new DOR coming in, expect a change in the HC role as well. Also, chat that a certain assistant at Sylvan Road won't be staying around for another year. Is all well in the Norths Nest? Hearing, despite a more competitive year, it's not all a happy camp, but Coach Ritchie is a survivor. Perhaps that assistant at Wests may end up at either Sunnybank, maybe Norths, but if there is to be a change at Yoku Road he could be the man to rebuild GPS.
Rob Roiri has done an excellent job so far. Lower grades are full with a couple of them performing, colts 1 is decent with good coaches in place. Would be silly to move him now that they're building to something.
what do you base Roiri doing an excellent job on?Rob Roiri has done an excellent job so far. Lower grades are full with a couple of them performing, colts 1 is decent with good coaches in place. Would be silly to move him now that they're building to something.
If anything, a QPR head coaches position is determined by performance stats and the last few years at Sunnybank would read poorly in the win/loss ratio. I’d say, the overhaul will begin and T. Barker will have a fair role to playwhat do you base Roiri doing an excellent job on?
They are last and have only won 2 games lol
Wins and losses will then doom the next Sunnybank coach too then. Maybe even the one after that. They aren't winning squat without rebuilding the club's playing group. When Roiri came in, Prems were largely in the same spot (definitely/admittedly winning more with less depth) and the colts were coming dead last and not attracting good young players to the club. Juniors were leaving to play colts elsewhere. The lowest side at the club was 4th grade and half a dozen of those blokes would play thirds and sometimes seconds each week as well. A lot of that has changed for the better. Not a finished product yet, sure. And the HC does influence that.If anything, a QPR head coaches position is determined by performance stats and the last few years at Sunnybank would read poorly in the win/loss ratio. I do agree - they haven't won enough, and they should've iced both Souths and GPS but couldn't. But if performance stats are the only indicator for head coaches, you may as well just rotate the Bank and Norths coaches annually.
I think the club reviewing everything is a great decision by the way, but there is definitely some good amongst all the bad.
Performance stats are the main indicator for a head coach. However, a 3 year term is the reasonable standard to allow them time to influence this.Wins and losses will then doom the next Sunnybank coach too then. Maybe even the one after that.
