QLD Premier Rugby 2025

I don't support either team, so I don't really care who is playing - in fact the more rep players the better for the spectacle.

But lets not pretend Ross is some Bond diehard. It's definitely a loophole being exploited that Ross is able to play in a 2025 GF when he won't actually debut for the Reds proper until 2026 and has probably spent all of 10mins at the Bond clubhouse (and yes I know he played in the BIL game but I am not sure it's counted as an official cap?).

The last time Ross played rugby in Australia the Bullsharks didn't even exist as a QPR team. He's also been open about the fact he's only aligned with them because the former Chiefs CEO is now at the club.

Very different to the JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) situation who was a Brothers junior and had played for the club previously throughout his career - he was also a Reds player in 2024. So really in fact the two situations are chalk and cheese.
Oh. So we’ve now got the team lists and Brothers have Flook, Ryan and Pakeho in that’s ok - but you object to Ross for Bond.

If a player has signed up to a club and is eligible for selection - whether they are a Wallaby or a 6th grader.

Ross signed up to Bond way before they looked like being in the grand finals. He was to play for Bond but was closed to the wallabies instead. He’s eligible to play. He should be allowed to play. Just as Flook, Pakeho and Ryan are eligible to play and should be allowed to play.

Hmm I’m somewhat ok with the Ross decision, if he was registered early enough and the intent was absolutely there to play him before this week, which was only denied because of Wallaby call-up then i think it’s a pass mark for me.

if he had only just flown into Australia, and there was zero intention or chance of him playing previously then yeah, that would be a different story.

Surely Berry is the ref? No TRC games this weekend so I’d assume he’s home in Brisbane. I thought he did a decent job with Pumas v AB, albeit a bit whistle happy.

I have no concerns over Damon’s ability(integrity) to officiate a match without bias, I just don’t like him personally, or his hip-thrusting walk and condescending & dismissive tone when he talks to players.

He does have an arrogant gate now that you mention it

Game halfway done and Wood looks to be making a strong case for a second Tony Shaw medal. Will Cartwright scoring a double might make it a bit difficult for him though.
Totally agree Wood having an immense game, Canham just behind him - result certainly not a foregone conclusion at half time.

Perfect weather for it, Brothers had the breeze in first half, more brothers fans naturally but good turnout by the Bond fans as well

Make that 3, with the hattrick try Cartwright's best. Gonna be hard for anyone else to claim that Tony Shaw medal now.
