Impressive - managed to be creepy and clueless in the one statement

You've got a lot of litigious things to say anonymously. If you have the best interests of the club at heart go and tell the people that matter at the club, try and be the difference. Don't come here, under multiple accounts, and tear down good people who have a long history at the club under the guise of having inside knowledge.
You're clearly someone who has an axe to grind. It's wearing thin.

People like yourself are what's the matter with rugby in this country. Just wanna keep tearing it down. Nothing positive to add, just chip away at the people giving to the game because you disagree with their decisions.
Pathetic.

Your sentiment I 100% agree with… we need more positivity in the code & on this thread. I truly agree & believe that.
I will pivot however and say that Souths over the last 3 seasons have shown no such respect to many coaches, players and volunteers, so you have to expect there will be quite a few disgruntled “Souths People” who were cast aside due to their relationships or their beliefs that the club could be run in a more professional and respectful manner.

They (and the list is long, distinguished & well documented), I know find it hard currently to be positive about what has happened or happening. No matter how many posts are made by the people who have made the decisions to take the club to its current position about how great Souths is positioned.

Time heals wounds, let’s hope that is the case.

That was very poor (horrible) form from those involved!! Another incident that the board was happy to take no action on, its like some people in the club were untouchable. Be interesting to see now that some people have vacated if we see some changes for the better. Is the classic case of Poor choices have bad consequences. Bad choice 3 years ago.

Porridge, you seem to have been around the place for a while… Before GM would it be fair to say that club was in the middle of a very strong rebuild?

I have been about the club for the last Decade or more and I can’t remember it being in better shape talent wise than it was back then… Sure they had a lot of Buzz’s clients, but these were home grown talent.

It seems the likes of O’Connor/Samoa & Dammers/Latham have all moved on and done well, but the club lurches from one mistake to the next.

I believe they have finally got it right with Thommo & he is the man to unite the club & get it moving in the right direction.

PPR what was the drive to bring Adrian in? From what was being put out in the rugby community last year it sounded like the 2025 coaching group was in place for a while.

I like this vote of confidence and I wish Thommo and the Souths club well but I don’t know of anything in Thommo’s coaching career that suggests he’s the man for the job.
So I commend your vote of confidence in him but can’t see how you can substantiate the claim.
Apart from Hospital Cup success for Easts in 1999 (with a side inherited from Grant Batty) where has he achieved success? When assistant at Reds it was a lean period. When he coached Brothers around 10 years ago they were ordinary. His stints associated with the ARU wasn’t bathed in glory. I don’t know how he went in Japan. I think he started his coaching at GPS in the 1990s lower grades, and then lifted his profile through school rugby before landing at Easts in the late 1990s.

Nobody’s doubting Bond — let’s not pretend there’s some grand conspiracy to ignore a club that’s clearly performing. The talent is there (and being recognized). The coaching pedigree is there. So why the constant need to play the “we’re the overlooked geniuses” card?

The idea that Bond could win five premierships and still not get a mention? Come on. If that happens, you won’t just get a mention — you’ll get a statue.

And this whole “we prefer it that way” narrative? That’s rich. It’s like saying “we love being underestimated” while quietly assembling a superteam and leaking transfer rumours like it’s a Marvel movie.

Bond are something serious for 2026, no doubt. But you’re not being ignored — you’re being watched very closely. Some just aren’t clapping as loudly as you’d like.
I definitely appreciate the feedback, but I can only relate, and quote, what I have heard firsthand from Bond coaching staff and first grade players.

There is no playing of 'overlooked genius' cards - or 'conspiracies of ignorance'. I write it as they say it, and it is what it is. I do form an opinion based on that particular level of substantive evidence. You are most welcome to do the same. I'm pretty sure that is why this forum was created. Cheers.

Was chatting with a couple of current Souths players yesterday and their version of events is that Garrick Morgan has endorsed Adrian Thompson and was the driving factor to oust Rama.

Sounds like there is more politics at Souths than Game of Thrones.
