I spoke to one of the sponsors on Friday at the cricket. He has pulled his sponsorship next year and so have a few of his mates after the way Phil was treated. Seems like it is a sore point regarding how that all went down. He said it had become quite political around the club with people on "Elwee's side" or not, so he wanted out said he probably won't even go down to home games next year or until it all settles down.Has anyone on here from Wests actually got any idea about what is going on?
I've heard rumours about sponsors pulling their funding and Elwee being paranoid about people coming after him but none of that from any source I'd call 'involved' with Wests.
I do know one of the sponsors quite well, but he is just a local business and has said he has no issues with the club, gets good exposure but specifically doesn't really care about the rugby behind the scenes.

Nah, wouldn’t happen on the GnG rugby forum.Just a group of uniformed members spreading rumours rather than facts. Nothing to see here wests is back on track, sponsorship as healthy as ever and new committee voted in last night with a big showing from current players who seemed to be more engaged with what’s going on. One in particular even getting voted onto the new committee backed by the players. There is a new rugby strategy which seems to have the buy in of the playing group with a commitment to high performance but a good balance for development pathways and recreational options. They have 90-100 odd players currently participating in a whole club preseason block which has got lots of positive comments across the club, young, old, males and females. I think it’s been a case of he said she said round the traps but I suspect now the AGM is out of the way it is business as usual at sylvan Rd. Albeit a few disgruntled old dogs still ruffling away in the background. I think there is more concern at souths with a number of souths grades players popping up at sylvan Rd for that preseason block.
