Can anyone ever serve Beef Wellington to guests again? If I went somewhere for dinner and they served it up I think I’d have to walk out.

Why? It's delicious.
It's honestly not worth the effort. You can get just as good (or better) a meal from the constituent parts with half the faf. The mushroom trial is just a good excuse not to bother. Unfortunately it will probably also remove it from restaurant menu's for a while which is a pity, because it's ideally suited to them. Might have to get to Rothwell's again soon before they pull the plug on it...

On a more on topic note, it's looking wet, windy and cold in Christchurch on Friday, hopefully all the time we've spent in the rain this year pays off.

Yeah the crusaders are really going to struggle to adapt to our natural conditions

The Crew have natural skillsets that make them work wet conditions well. Still, Reds have been playing those conditions pretty much all season. I think rain is an advantage for the Reds. Whether it's enough to tip the balance may be another matter.

There's not many pubs that play the rugby unfortunately - the Mihi in Brassall is the best option I've found

LOL it's 1200m up (?) the road, going to check it out shortly. Plan B if the BBQ over Waterford West falls through.

Reds might be used to the rain, but they haven't been playing in the rain when it's 2 degrees... that's different again
Jock Campbell may do ok having played at Inverell Highlanders.

Many moons ago I played at Inverell for the Nemingah Jets U19's and we played in sleet, I have never been so cold playing sport in my life, it was ridiculous. Windy, sleet and temperature close to zero, losing by 60 didn't help either.

The greatest thing here that I am crying out for, is losing. Stop. dont talk about the margin.

Heh, I'll bet the beer after was fantastic.

If forecast right for tonight who get's advantage? Reds have surely had more training and wet weather this season, but the cold could swing it back towrds Crusaders?

Its a completely pointless meal but a difficult one to pull off and therefore a fun challenge.
