To be fair I think Jock did pretty well all things considering. But yeah, maybe that was another option.

And for 2 years straight I’ve been told how much better Les Kiss is, only for him to fail at the exact same point Thorn did two years in a row. Pretty concerning from a Wallabies perspective, Kiss’ Reds seem to fall apart so easily in big games

We've seen constantly the inability of Brumbies coaches to translate super results to the Wallaby level. Both Laurie and Larkham have failed spectacularly along with McKellar.

C’mon. I think Thorn deserves enormous credit for what he did in terms of tearing down the rot inside the Reds and rebuilding a much better organisation.

But if you can’t see the difference on the field you aren’t trying.

At least they have had results to an extent in the first place. Kiss just fails spectacularly at club level

I’d say losing the playing group is a pretty big factor yeah, and as much as I liked Thorn, he had lost it.

Too many injuries, and piss poor refereeing, they tried and never gave up but I was dreading this game before it even kicked off. It's such a shame that they couldn't get decent refs lined up for a game like this

I did see a difference, Thorns last QF they almost beat the top of the table Chiefs, and in both of Kiss QF’s they have been played off the park

That's tough losing your 10 , with no specialists on bench. As a Canes man I know feeling, and I think it hurt Reds when they started to get shit together in 2nd half.
Need some props, Nongoor unfortunately isn't really there at 3, and Faga'ase is perhaps past his best which was never that high anyway. What are your locks like in scrum, I know that helps Crusaders, Barrett is a f***en good scrmmager.
By geez Tate M is a quality 9 though, and Wilson and McDermott are both pretty good.

as for Kiss as wallabies coach, I’ve said all year that I didn’t think any of the 3 x Super Rugby applicants were the ideal candidates. Dunno who is though.

If we want success, Wallabies coaching choice is slightly less important than recognising we have structural issues and working together to fix them.

I will say one thing I’ve been disappointed with this year is our set peice. I feel like it should have been much stronger than it has been. Injuries have had an impact but, when you get down to it, we’ve still rolled out a pretty good tight 5 each week. I feel like we should have been much better in that regard.

Interested to see what happens next year, even with Ross and LHP… we’re short on LHPs and there’s a decent crop off THPs coming through. Bloomfield, Lutiis, Nongorr and JTA (Jeffery Toomaga-Allen) as the veteran.

curious as to whether Nongorr might switch LHP, he has been playing it a fair bit late in the game
