Queensland Reds 2026

Uru isn’t going to help break the defensive line done, the other 2 am have potential. The thread is Queensland Reds 2026, not Queensland Reds long term potential performers.
What’s with the private messaging? You put a comment out there and it’s fair game to oppose it with a different opinion. The red’s back row is the last thing they need to worry about.

Uru had more line breaks (3 - 2) than Langi Gleeson, from less than half the carries (71 - 182).

He also had a higher dominant carry percentage (36.9% - 33.7%) and gainline percentage (71.8% - 68.7%) than Langi Gleeson. I'm not going to try and tell you he's the strongest carrier in the league, but he's very good with ball in hand, a key piece in the forward focused ball movement, and part of a very strong back row unit for the Reds.

Interested in other solutions. Strike power needed in the backline and the back row.

from the club I support

Id be looking at Glenn Vaihu as an outside back option for the Reds.

He has been having a great club rugby season and was constantly named for the rebels on the wing last year.

Im sure I could find you some other qpr/shute shield options - I’d just need to scan some teamlists first

Those are good stats. Add in his lineout prowess and he really is a very solid option at 6 or 8.

Kotoni Staggs is someone the reds should look at. Staggs' explosive power and line-breaking ability would be an excellent addition to the Reds' backline, providing a boost to their attacking options.
He's unreliable in defense and constantly drifts inside and then gets caught out when the pill gets spread wide. Wouldn't trust him to improve while also getting his head around rucks. Never mind that he's on far better money than the Reds or RA would/could give him.

And risk us losing more members. Sometimes I just want to call @Dismal Pillock a peanut.

But we gotta have the banter, I'm quite sarcastic in real life, sometimes you need tell your thoughts. call someone a twat. If it goes overboard then I will get banned... again :) last time the guy who was the peanut was the mode so probably should have ignored him.

When did they make Marce a mod?

A few itchy trigger fingers in here. Why don’t we all watch the Reds vs Lions game, take stock, and report back about how the Reds can arrest their slide?
Good point Nugster.

I can’t wait for the game.

It’ll be a near impossible task for the Reds however if they want to beat them, they can:
- Exploit weaknesses: Target areas like defence or set piece.
- Use speed: Leverage quick backs to attack the Lions' defense.
- Disrupt set piece: Impact the Lions' scrums and lineouts.
- Counter-attack: Capitalize on quick turnovers.
- Play disciplined rugby: Minimize penalties and errors.

They also need to sort out their back row.
NuggetBox must be on their lunchtime break
