Queensland Reds 2026

Will be keen to see how he goes. 1 year isn't much of a risk for the Reds. He'll pop up in the reds U19 and Aus U20s if he's good enough. he'll have to be good with Conway, Pritchard and Ruebens showing heaps of promise.
I wish the kid all the best moving forward. The name Lynagh could be thought of as a detriment because the rugby community will be picking the young bloke to bits before he even plays a game. Same thing happened to Tom. Time will tell? Hopefully he sets the world alight!! More concerning is Tom is a head knock or two from an early finish which is a shame.

Why don't you want to see Paisami?

Acknowledging that this is the team "you want to see" rather than expect to see, there's next to no chance we'll be running a regular 23 without Paisami if he's fit and available. That is also how it should be, as good as Pakeho was for a debutant last year he's very much still developing and has a long way to go at this level. I expect if everyone is fit he might miss the 23 quite a bit this year, though that probably depends on how much faith they have in Henry long term.
I have never been the biggest fan, he has been great for QLD but I always fear he is moments away from a stupid decision and 10 in the bin or worse.

He has an impressive highlights package, but I find him lacking in between his moments of outright brilliance. It seems like he will put in 10-15 average to below average kicks in general play but will have a single brilliant kick that everyone remembers and this makes them overlook his average one.

As I said, it is players I want to see, I would not have LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) in my teams for disciplinary reasons as I simply don't trust he won't cost us a game from being sent off. I know nothing of the new 2nd row options, so I had LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) in my team out of necessity.

As he has aged he has become a bit of a loose cannon, you can see him getting over aggressive and being more concerned about a big hit / cheap shot than sticking to a game plan, it is similar to Tupou, he was my favourite player for a few years, but he also lost control of his temper at times. This is why I was shattered losing Smith, he did the hard yards and was always going to give you a solid 80 minutes and not leave the team with 14 on the field.

I recognise that others will disagree, and I am ok with that as a forum would be pretty boring if we all had the same thoughts.

Talent is not a prerequisite at the Reds. The boy has the the right surname.
He will be ok, fastracked straight to the top. Much like boy #2.
I pity the local boys slogging it out to achieve their dreams.
What a load of crap.
Did you see Horan's lad signed and fast tracked? Cornelsen?
Did you have the same concerns with Scott-Young, Brial?
I'm sure there others.
Professional clubs don't sign a player on their dads credentials.
It's a ridiculous assertion.

Message from our Premier today, Reds obviously aren't from Qld. I guess 2 NRL games at Suncorp doesn't leave room for Reds, shame.

Mark your calendars Queensland - we’ve just delivered a sport feast you won’t want to miss.

Our Government, in partnership with the NRL, AFL and Netball, has secured a sporting extravaganza for Queensland Day next year.

6 June 2026 will now be an all-Queensland sports celebration like no other right here in Queensland.

Queenslanders will see

Broncos v Titans

Cowboys v Dolphins

Gold Coast Suns v Brisbane Lions

Queensland Firebirds v Sunshine Coast Lightning

Queensland Day is about celebrating all things Queensland - and now we’ve delivered the sporting games to match.

I can’t wait.

It's the first week of the finals, you can't exactly schedule a Reds game in ahead of time. They also don't have a QLD based opponent to play like all the others.

It might be a bit awkward if the Reds end up hosting a QF that weekend, but there isn't any reason they can't host on the Friday and have it billed as the start of the celebration.

QLD sports lunch?
there’s half a dozen of these luncheons each year, under different names and organised by different groups. There’s one literally this Friday at the Star where Stirling Mortlock is the rugby union rep alongside other codes speakers; Thurston, Fevola and Andy Bichel.

The same Fevola who stole a wage from the Lions after being booted from the Blues and yet still barracked against us in finals footy. SMH.

There was literally a lunch this year called the Brisbane Lunch and it was hosted by the Lions and Broncos. That is what I’m referring to.

Were the Roar, Bullets, Heat or Bandits there? I'd be more pissed off if I was one of them seeing as it was a "Brisbane" lunch.

At least we have an excuse for not being there being the Qld Reds....

Sure, my question mark was because you originally said the "Queensland sports lunch", which is one I hadn't seen before. My point stands, though, these corporate luncheons are a dime a dozen and an area rugby has traditionally done well on anyway.
