33-5 half time
That first half was atrocious, can’t give these springboks backs any opportunities. Whittaker better have given them a rocket at half time.
Hopefully that Eminyake from the sevens can make an impact 2nd half

I hate it when a ref calls maul and then players who are not in the maul just dive on it at the ball. Is that even legal ?

The boks were just lethal. Their back 3 ripped us apart so easily. We looked ok on attack at time and just made dumb decisions. We had no plan B and instead of buckling down we did the same crap and they kept scoring at will. Couldn't tackle. It was a proper shit show. No doubt that bok side is very very good. They just looked bigger, faster, smarter, and older. It was like their jerseys were made of Teflon.

Like I said we did look good at times and showed we have great attacking weapons. We left 20 points out there so I don't think it would be too hard to fix the attack and put 40 points on teams but the defence needs a hell of a lot of improvement

FT
73-17

They only played each other in early May with Aust winning 29-24 (after being down 17 nil)

Absolutely dreadful defensive display.

To actually give up 52 points from 25th to 55th minutes and then it’s 21-17 for the other 50 minutes of the game is just inexplicable.

Hard to fathom how a team who have shown their capabilities this season could fall in such a hole with terrible defence and poor handling errors. Don’t get me wrong, South Africa’s attack was exceptional.

Only Cooper Watters and Eamon Doyle come out with any credit I’m afraid and they were so far ahead of their teammates. As for the rest, well the coaches have to make a lot of changes.

Good highlights of this (and all) games up on the World Rugby site, especially for fans of outside backs not being able to tackle their opposite number, and very ineffective blind-side defense
