That last play with the drop goal was way off. No go forward in the phases preceding it (= no back tracking defence) + Predicable + Too long to set up = Easy charge down by Lions
Actually, Quade scrubbed his kick. It was a shithouse attempt.

Only good thing to come of that was Quade & Will after fulltime did it again maybe 20 times. Only once did Quade repeat his in-game effort. The rest went through, or close enough ( sitting side on).

And that's the point. The pressure was there by virtue of what preceded the attempted kick. I'm sure he can slot it 9 times out of 10 without pressure, but get a shit platform to work off (like what happened in the game) and it's whole different situation.

What did you guys think of quade? also on a side note i thought genia was pretty terrible, our forwards cant get over the advantage line because by the time will passes the fucking ball they are already at the tackler which gives them no momentum at all. I thought horwill was quite good again, hes one of the few where i think you can see how much effort hes putting in.

I thiougt Quade was ok. Our problems are up front. I'd swap Schatz for Houston immediately if i could. Jake tries hard but has fuck all impact. He's just not big enough. Reds need impact. When we were kings had Higgers & Samo providing plenty of that.

That's my problem. A few of the Reds were quite good individually but I think they have to be pretty amazing to get MotM in a losing side.
The Lions won it on teamwork so individually it's hard to pick a player out for MotM.

I agree, I think at least 5 Reds individually were above average to good. JOC (James O'Connor), QC (Quade Cooper), Kerevi immediately come to mind.

MOTM is probably the Lions defense for keeping the Reds to 1 (actual) try

Also, anyone catch the crowd figure?
No actually but it wasn't many. Worst for 6 years I'd wager. I prefer to spend my money on beer over a fancy seat but this season, once you're in the gate you can just walk around to the 30m mark and get a nice spot with cup holders for your beers.

The people on the aisle think we're regulars there now.

Let start by saying the Ref was fucking terrible. Decisions at scrum time were disgraceful.
Captains need to learn how to use Ref Cam and audio to mount pressure on dud decisions. Poet did that last week.

Genia was shit - no excuses he was just shit. Bloke has lived off his 2011 season for years . Drop him for Frisby

Holmes was great when he came on. Penalty try - Hanson is a poor scrummager, always has been, always will be. Slipper tried hard all night but some shit decisions by the Ref and his hooker and THP we're frustrating. Holmes is probably better than Kepu and hopefully he gets a call-up in the Wallabies

QC (Quade Cooper) was OK - Benny Taps is just one dimensional - very disappointing

Got no idea of the crowd but it was poor.

RG would have or should have had a restless night of sleep dreaming about his future- I know it ain't at the Reds

W Smith in the The Australian states the crowd as 19,199.

It seemed less than that to me at the ground. But the trend line is clearly downwards.

The Reds say they now have 39,000 + members, and this number has grown strongly in recent weeks. Obviously quite a number of these will be 3-game versions and some no-game versions, whatever, something doesn't add up and many members appear to be simply voting with their feet and staying away.

That was always going to be charged after slow ball.

The Lions loosies were tugging at the bit to charge down Cooper's drop kick. Some years back, Ginia would have feinted the pass and gone for it himself off- footing those loosies.
To me, the lack of initiative in that last move was that of a side without the mojo...the determination to win:mad:
