At this point I'd really just prefer if they called Bernard Foley.

He's apparently still playing well and he's got to be better than Hamish Stewart.

Yes he's 35 but if you look at the Springboks team (and squad) they have a huge glut of players that are 30 - 35, e.g. Kolisi, Etzebeth, de Jager, du Toit, Kriel, Marx, Esterhuizen, Louw etc

I often think we discard players too early, and our squads always lean very young.

It's effectively for one match. They're not looking as much for actual 10 coverage as they are training coverage and maybe a versatile bench option. It helps a lot that he can slot straight in as well, having spent most of last year in and around the squads.
