It's not all of them, the LHS is all the Sides who have 6 or more in general, the RHS is all of the French clubs who've got at least 1 player picked.

There's no Rebels either, and they'd have 3 (Smith, Gaki, McMahon)

Why wasn't Gareth Anscombe selected? Did he die or drop of the face of the earth in Wales' search for a gun 10?

Injury.

Warren Gatland said:
"With Gareth Anscombe, the medical advice was that he might possibly be available for the Uruguay game, but there was no guarantee. He has been unlucky in that we felt we just couldn't afford to carry another injured player, with Samson Lee and Liam Williams already having injuries."

Anscombe rolled his ankle last week which put him out of the early stage of the tournament. Would have made the cut probably if not for that. As mentioned, Wales already had 2 carrying injuries named in the squad in Samson Lee and Liam Williams so Gatland couldn't risk another.

Not make or break given it's 3rd string hooker for 4th string hooker, but McInally is a good enough backrower that he almost made his international debut at blindside 2 years ago, so it robs the squad of a little versatility.

Is there any talk in Wales about the nature of the injuries or just putting it down to random incidents. Gatland training camps anyone..

There's definitely a case for training techniques playing a part in injuries. Cheika coached sides have very good injury records.

There's always talk in Wales and conspiracy theories but largely they have been just bad luck injuries. Anscombe went over on his ankle and now Walker slightly pulled hamstring. Walker is often prone to injury and will probably be available later on in tournie. Rhys Webb and H/Penny were just shit that can happen in a game. Not sure exactly what H/Penny was carrying injury wise before hand as he had strapping but the WRU came out to say he was fully recovered and the strapping was more psycological. Just happened so that the same knee popped.

Considering the injuries I feel quite happy going into the tournament. Pressure is often as we have now been largely written off but I really don't think the first choice team is that weakened. Hopefully the bit of re-jigging will click quickly and the group will still be wide open then. Many think the injuries have actually added an extra attacking edge...... just a pity we are stuck with Cuthbert as the only major downside. Further key injuries could seriously leave us with knowhere to go other than downhill quickly in certain positions.

I'm not talking about the specifics on each incident because they're obviously random collisions but rather the management of their bodies which can lead to these things like over weight training or too much training. Halfpenny looks like he's in the gym too much.

Yeh I think that is true. Some teams seem to approach strength and conditioning in such a way that it leads to very few injuries. Just look at the Tahs over the last few seasons. Barely any injuries. On the flipside, the Reds seemed to injure more players from Monday to Thursday than during the games themselves. There must be something to that.

I can't really comment on Wales' situation though. The Webb and Halfpenny injuries were in-game incidents.
