^^^ Article in Fin Review yesterday says that Club Rugby TV had to stump up with ~$750k to pay Ch 7 get on FTA TV. Even with good ratings, it may take some time before the tables are turned and Ch 7 start paying Club Rugby TV (or others) for the coverage.

The Clubs paid in excess of $350K of that figure. NSWRU kicked in as well (I believe around $100K) and CRTV went and got sponsorship to cover the rest. None of the money from Intrust, Canon and others went to the Clubs or NSWRU, it all went to CRTV. NSWRU also handed over the digital content FOC I might add to CRTV and I also believe that CRTV are also a silent partner in the takeover of Rugby News as well as NSWRU handing over the Shute Shield Facebook page to CRTV.

So my point is, I think that got a great deal. And if it ends up on the main Channel 7 network, good on them. Maybe then that will make St Leonards realise they are staring a gift horse in the mouth

Apparently Penrith RSL U14s (a eam primarily of league players having a crack at Rugby for the first time) beat Wahroonga Tigers U14 Blues. While I'm sad for the local lads who haven't had too many games this year, its great to see these kids from Penrith having a crack. Hats off to them and all the parents that came to Cliff oval for the match.

I also saw the Penrith RSL group at ANZ on Sat night. They represented their club very well. Some big units in that squad.

Annual Reports for some clubs are starting to be published on their web sites, and it seems that not too many ended up in the Black for Season 2015.

One suspects that hands will be out at the begging table as the following the announcement of the increased ARU Broadcasting deal.
