I reckon Campo had a bloody ball at Coogee seeing us knock the Pirates out of the finals race.
We are looking bloody good in the lead up to the finals.
Up the Wicks!

^^^ Pirates haven't been in the finals race since round 5.

Wix have got to face the Woodies, Hobbits, and Rats in their final 3 fixtures, all of whom could surprise on any day. The Wix will qualify easily for top 6, but this year in particular, anything can and will happen in knockout footy. I wouldn't count any chickens just yet.

Whilst we have to respect what Uni and Woodies have achieved over the last several years it would be nice to see another team win this year......and even nicer if that was the Wicks!

After round 15 the finals race should be clear, however not too many would have predicted the shape of the Shute Shield Ladder at this stage of the season before Round 1.

Looking at the run home to see who the contenders really are
Southern Districts, 51 points. To come: Randwick, Penrith, Eastern

This is still looking too close to call with only 3 rounds to go. It looks like The Corporation, Shoremen, Hobbits , MMM and Randi-Wix will qualify with, Beasties, Woodies and Rats having an almighty scrap for the last finals slot.
Don't think that includes Hobbits win over Highlanders, if they got 4 tries ( I assume from score line they did) they have 56 points and will finish top 2 most likely

^^^Oh Fudge. That is right. The Hobbits round 15 score hasn't been added up yet on the web site. If they get 5 points for a BP win, then that will have them on 56 points now, and therefore most likely finish in 2nd place on 66 points.

One thing is for certain. The Minor Premiership race, and the race to be in the Finals 6, is going to be very close this year.

and in a number of the grades as well.

Injuries seem to be a big factor at Woodies this year ? (Concerned that MMM's are going to go into the return derby match with the same prob)

Great stuff M2B'S though.

Re Pirates just how bad/real were the coaching/player walk out issues referred to a few weeks back? Given earlier form beltings like last weekend tend to bespeak cultural probs.

Pirates are a club that have little depth this year, injuries have taken a toll on the playing group.
Ngaluafe has been away on International duties and the front row has lost a few bodies (for varying reasons) in recent weeks.
I was at Uni on Saturday and Easts the week before so cant comment on recent games, but this year has been hit or miss most weeks and you never know which West Harbour will turn up.

Up to a point, Lord Copper.

It would be even better to see a less successful club win.

There is no room in the Randwick trophy cabinets, shirley? How do get all the cups and flags into your club-house, as well as Jeff Sayle?

Must be a very tight fit.

IMO they are missing Barry hugely, they were also getting Roach on a reasonably regular basis until this year.
Ayoub has also missed quite a few games this year.
They just aren't competive without him.

Where is big Jarred Barry - he has played some games this year - presumably injured?

Dunno about Barry. He did play earlier in the season IIRC, but did not make much impact.

Of all the players we have lost, Pat Sio is the one we miss the most.

Ed Craig has covered very well for Roach.

Always room for one more :)

There was a couple of posts around the start of the year saying that the Brook Street clubhouse had reopened. What happened to that?

Last time I was at Coogee oval, the post game festivities were at the Coogee Bowlo. That seemed to be a fairly decent and convenient venue. Roof, walls, floors, doors, beer, dunnies. What more does the discerning rugby fan need?
