Shute Shield 2020

Nothing at all. Can u name any that have?

I Believe a few juniors:
- Cam Clark
- Sam Ward
- Hugh Roach
- Seb Wileman
- Mike Iceley
- Wayne Borsak
- James Armstrong
- Chris Alcock
- Michael Wells

Those just on the top of the head. Sure they all had valid reasons to leave given the plight of Gordon over the years.

Anyway, great to see a few Juniors make the pathway plus some quality signings. Should be a good game. Sure the current crop are glad they hung around. Very few get to play in a Shute Shield GF.

Kind of makes one wonder why the club has had such a long period of failure on the field? And the crowds dropped right away. Very hard for an old Eastwood man to understand, given how strong Gordon always used to be, in every grade. What went wrong, and how was it fixed, or rather, has it been permanently fixed?

The Colts programme was on it's knees mid decade, but now it's flourishing thanks to a lot of hard work. Many boys from the 2017-2019 Colts now in grade

Enjoy the day by the way, hoping for a memorable game

Win, lose, or draw, I just hope there are no serious injuries, and no refereeing controversies. When I first started watching the game back in the fifties, Gordon was the nearest neighbour, and the strongest of competitors. I played for our thirds when we won Eastwood's first ever premiership back in the very early sixties, and we had to beat Gordon. I became good mates with Bobby Lee, who played twos that day and missed a gimme against Uni - he went missing for three days apparently.

I still remember playing squash with him at the old Gordon club.

Sadly we cannot be there in person today, because we now live in QLD. But we will be glued to SevenPlus.

I'll be cheering for Gordon, but like you said I just hope it's a good game devoid of poor calls and definitely injuries. May the best team win.

I also hope that the weather holds off so it doesn't devolve into a wet arm wrestle. I want to see some good running rugby.

Happy to see Nawaqanitawase develop in Shute for a year or two. Kid's got talent and will come good.

Agree. He just needed more game time against men, particularly in defence. He could get away with it in the underage comps where his attacking ability shone, but was found a little lacking when he stepped up to Super.

His aerial work and ability to snake an offload have always been impressive as have some of his finishes on the highlight reel.

To be fair, Eastwood need to just push square and straight, allowing/or are wheeling it every time.
First penalty Woods are about to push over and Goddard runs in and takes out the 8. Should have been a penalty try then and there. Instead, we got 10 more minutes of resets.
