Southern Inland Rugby 2025

Fair and obvious point Mauler. The system as is could be seen to be encouraging a feeding frenzy with these two hapless clubs.

the system is uniform across rugby.
I also highly doubt teams are actively trying to run up scores. Rather that be the outcome of the standard disparity in the comp.
Cause and effect here.
Big scores are the effect in my opinion. Not the cause

Shellackings like that have been a part of the game as long as I can remember. I'm thinking back to Australia V Namibia in the 2003 RWC. Very similar scoreline.

It doesn't do a great deal to promote the game obviously and nobody wants a scoreline like that. But we're all adults at the end of the day. Play to the whistle.

Perhaps this may open some people's eyes at the Reddies and promote change. No point laying blame on the team that in laying blame on the team in the running for the premiership, we're not trying to spare the feelings of 10 year olds.
47 points is a shellacking, 57, 67, 77, even 87 and 97. Beyond 100 does come across as self serving and in no one’s interest. 147 points could be enough for people to chuck it in and not return. Anyone who has played knows that grim feeling (past probably 40 points?) where it is barely enjoyable anymore and have more than one eye on the clock. I’d imagine both sheds after the game were probably equally as flat. I have no doubt that there would have been some in that winning by side questioning why the game went on.

47 points over 100… pretty much 7 converted tries.
