Aussie women went very well given five of their top players didn't go to Singapore (Caslick, Smale, Fakaosilea. Hayes and Terita). The hidden benefit of that is that some of the new girls got some excellent experience going all the way to a Cup final. Ashby's injury looked bad enough to probably mean missing the Olympics which would be devasating for her if that is the case.

GB knocking over the Aussies for bronze in Singapore has relegated the USA men's team to the relegation tournament along with Spain, Samoa and the Canadians. It's a long shot but there could be no North American teams in the world series next year

That’a BS excuse. Even Soccer has more integrity the way they play when an opponent is clearly injured. What hope does Rugby have if it’s behind soccer in the integrity stakes.

That's always been an accepted practice in soccer.

It isn't in rugby. You play the whistle.

It has absolutely nothing to do with integrity.

Have you never watched a rugby game before? How often do you see the side with the ball stop playing because a player on the opposition has gone down injured?

In rugby it is up to the referee to stop the play. Having said that, we have all seen play stop spontaneously when some dreadful happens.

Shiray Kaka has ruptured an ACL & will miss both Madrid & Paris. No word yet on Sarah Hirini (also ACL) or Tyla King (ankle) but time rapidly running out esp for Hirini who hasn't played since late last year.
