There is a massive difference in regards to this oval is that it is built on reclaimed swamp.
Tidal Swamp.
This is why you see this photo like it is. The sump pump they had working in the other corner was trying its best, but it should be a reminder that there are other grounds that drain better and are much more user friendly. The high tide on Sunday was in the middle of the day and contributed massively to this as well as the rain.
The NSWRU must realise that the young men that played here on Sunday deserve better than playing in a swamp, when it comes to allocating the finals. In saying that, the pies were nice.

Agree BW - pies were good and I have to congratulate Southern Districts on their burger as well! Credit to the young men from all the teams that had to endure those conditions - especially the 3rd's! Games would have been off anywhere else I reckon! Well done to all the teams for a great effort under trying conditions.
Cheers, Wreckless :)

Season is over, and below is the last Manly wrap up that gets sent out to all followers each week from one of the tirless volunteers that most clubs have. With a number of players stepping up to grade next year as well as the writer who reads these pages all the time but never posts - you thanked allot of people - and now yourself.

Great link to the you tube video of the games. @Dave Beat

Shows how truly awful the weather conditions were for the Colts 2 and Colts 3 games were.

Not sure that MMM deserved the two Red Cards issued in Colts 3 (even after multiple replays) but this is based on a "scratchy" quality you tube video. 2nd red card made little difference because No Match was called immediately after the card was issued. 1st red card - hmmm probably 50/50. A little hard to judge from the video but the referee is the sole judge of time and fact, so I defer to the decision of the Bloke best placed to adjudicate and that is the appointed referee.
