Sydney Subbies 2025

If that’s the case, it will be interesting to see if Waldo Wessels, Jordan McGregor, Angus McGrath leave as well.
They’ve lost Tom Kwok, their 13, to the Two Blues.
Angus McGrath is their best player, if he doesn’t stay that would be a massive loss

It’ll be interesting to see if they announce any more players. The last announcement seemed to come right after my question about the other lads.
Maybe a coincidence.

Great start for NSW Rugby TV today with technical errors causing some to miss the opening 5 minutes of the Tahs Brumbies trial. Hopefully they will have that sorted by the time Subbies kicks off.

Briars go undefeated at the Lakes Sevens By The Sea in both mens and womens.

Looks like the mens final ended with a couple of red cards.

Not this bloke again.

Gloves are old and antiquated.

Studs remain in use.

5G issues in Bowral? ;)
I went down there for the weekend to watch the game. I am in two minds about the whole process.

Pros:
Super rugby level rugby in the 'country' and was a lot of interest. circa 4k crowd was reported
The event was run really well. it was organised enough to avoid chaos and not organised enough for it to feel like a soulless Sydney nanny state. If that makes sense.
Pitch and facilities from the Bowral blacks are awesome and I left quite envious
Player access was un-matched, and kids were loving it!

Cons:
God if felt like a boys club meeting. Land rovers getting their first bit of off road action rolling around on the grass parking.
The amount of money in Bowral is nauseating. Its Sydney's version of the hamptons. Should this really be the market they target in rare cases of event flexibility?
I just had a sense of this is exactly the image those outside of Rugby think it looks like. it didn't do our stereotype any favours.

In summary, i enjoyed my time, but felt the event could have been held somewhere closer to an area we need to grow the sport.

This is the bit I laughed at - good summary.

Yeah I thought Goulburn RC could be an option next time - assuming they are looking for place half way between Syd and Canberra.

out of interest - what level would the Bowral Blacks first grade be? ( in Subbies speak). Kentwell? Barraclough?
