No idea! Let's assume Knox, LCOIRFC, Hornsby, and Beecroft for now and maybe someone from Division 4 to make up 6 clubs.

We're just announcing it because we are confident of getting the numbers .:)

Build it, and they will come.
Pfitzy how do you think you’d go against these clubs in each grade and colts? I know it’s early but what grade would be your best shot? Considering they’re all pretty established div 3 clubs.

Very early days! :)

Depends a lot on the retention and recruitment for seniors of course. I'm confident we will still have a good core, and as long as I can get 30-35 seniors to games on weekend, the idea is that Colts become the bench for both grades.

I like the potential we've got in Colts - guys who have played both codes, and done some rep duties in RL with makes them physically harder than the rugby-only guys that I've seen.

The challenge in that Division is building cohesion and fitness to compete with clubs like Knox and Beecroft.

Mostly we just want to get back to playing rugby and establishing a good social scene around that. As opposed to some weekends this year, where you're turning up to cop a bunch of angst and thuggery; blokes turning up to take out their frustrations on the rugby pitch.

What was the thinking behind back to being Rouse Hill Renegades? @Pfitzy

There's been a long debate about that since we dropped "Rouse Hill", which deserves explanation:

1) While the club started playing in Rouse Hill, we haven't been based there since about 2009. Not unusual for new clubs to get shifted especially as Council opens new facilities or requirements change for clubs as they grow.

2) About a decade ago the club got kicked out for a brawl thanks to a few lowlifes. If you googled "Rouse Hill Rugby Club" or "Rouse Hill Renegades" at the time you got some pretty bad results :(

3) As we started to rebuild, we were also approached by a particular entity to relocate. With all that swirling together, and picking up the pieces, we took the decision to remove a location-based reference as we might have moved out of the area altogether.

The relocation didn't happen, and we've been in Kellyville pretty much ever since; there are enough teams called "Kellyville" for us to not bother and it doesn't have the right ring anyway :) Plus officially under Fair Trading we're Renegades Rugby, and I can't be fked changing that back.

With all that laid on the table, we've been mulling over a change back for a while.

It coalesced when our Netball ladies started advertising for next season, and they'd put "Rouse Hill" in the banner as they didn't know the back story. We had a chat with them, and their point was that a location helped let people know who they are and a lot of clubs in their competition had a suburb name (a lot didn't, as well).

There are a couple of ironic points here: they play in Baulkham Hills Netball Association, which is based on North Kellyville :) So I guess where you're based and what you're called are moot ;)

Anyway, we also had a lot of guys on the rugby side who also understood the removal of "Rouse Hill" but also thought a location was important.

Eventually we took the decision to go back. Many people still call us "Rouse Hill" anyway :)
