Yeah, get rid of that one. Hang around enough Clubs and meet the best coaches. A lot will have what you categorise as 'Bogan tendencies' normal people that have worked normal jobs and played a lot of footy. We would never want someone like that...
We'd rather an un callused velvet hand of HMac who only sits on chesterfield lounges and feels unsafe if you can't see water from where you are.

What type of person whose worked hard to create a successful record for themselves already would take on a job with explicit performance based returns (other than your stock standard bonuses) without creating insane financial incentives?

I said ideally. I don't see what's wrong with adding in a bonus if we win the world cup/ lions tour etc.

Hopefully Simon Raiwalui, whilst can't commit to HC, can offer assistant services.
I don't see why Ronan O'Gara has any more proven success than Bernie. Both unproven at test level, both have successes with two great squads.
Get that Portuguese coach in, I think he's been released. Genuinely, the man can work wonders with a disjointed squad, give him the keys.

O'Gara has won two European Cups and been to three finals. Is the head coach of what is probably one of the three best club sides in the world. He is also one of the only foreigners I've ever seen allowed into the Crusaders (who are a pretty good judge of talent). Where he won another two titles. Bernie has never won a trophy as a coach.
He has also done more to modernise defensive tactics than any coach since Shaun Edwards.

O'Gara also turned down international assistant jobs a couple of years ago because he wasn't ready. I think he will end up coaching France, I don't think he will want the added pressures of coaching Munster or Ireland.
Leo Cullen (I hate Leinster with a passion) wouldn't be a bad get, he signs on year to year and does not have any ego. Is known for his organizational skills and drawing the best out of all his assistants.

I agree, but I do love the idea of Thorne as an assistant coach. He will drive hard work and culture. Forwards coach would suit him best, which isn't ideal as I'd prefer Laurie Fisher in the role. But if Laurie turns it down I'd love to see Thorne there.

Why is everyone overlooking South African coaches?
They're the world champs, their coaches will specialise in our weaknesses, and I'm sure they would prefer to live in Australia over South Africa.
Rugby and Cricket teams throughout the world target their players, so why not their coaches?

Yep I am inclined to agree on O'Gara. Also think the La Rochelle salary probably makes it pretty easy to turn down international job till one comes along he really wants.
Cullen would be a wonderful hire, would make me very happy.
Jamie Joseph is certainly a good coach but Japan seemed to have gone backwards over the last four years which makes me a little sceptical.
