Wallabies 2025

Desmond

Herbert Moran (7)
i would argue he is a generational talent, already superior to Lonegren, Thomas, Wilson. I genuinely believe he will be taken as the smokey to Europe this time next year with him & Mcdermott the 9 & 21 at the worldcup.
You sound like his player manager!!! He is a good young prospect and we have a back log of 9 talent in the system. So what you are really saying is all the 9s in front of him are not as good. Lets see how he performs in Shute Shield 1st Grade, Waratahs and Aussie U20 first. Let him develop and mature and then maybe.

We have been desperately needed a world class halfback for years! Having one immediately elevates the playing group (see whenever Roigard is out of the ABs team).
I rate Werchon and I think Thomas has the ability to be serviceable. But Teddy and Martens look like the exceptional talents we’ve needed for a long time. And if Grover is as good as people suggest and goes past Teddy then I think you’ll find the wallabies in a pretty bloody good space! Fingers crossed.

I really struggle to see what others do in Teddy Wilson. I don't see his core skills as better than his peers and strikes me as another Jake Gordon - good not great, and not the guy that can step up to the level of Gregan and Genia.

Maybe Grover's that guy - but you'd be making that claim through a very cloudy crystal ball.

At this stage Wilson isn't a Test player or even an established Super Rugby starting calibre 9 but at the end of 2024 Super Rugby similar questions where being asked about Thomas and he made a noticeable progression this year. For Tah fans the hope is Wilson can do similar and keep showing growth.

With Teddy, I see a bit (I said a bit) of Dupont in how he plays. Looks strong and tough for a small bloke. But agree needs to show more at SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) level. I wasn't the one suggesting Grover is "that guy" just that if he goes past Teddy he'll be pretty bloody good. I say the hype around Grover appears real from the contract he just signed with the Tahs but I haven't seen enough of him play to say how he'll develop. I have seen Martens play and he looks very very good! Good pass, solid boot, big and quick and enjoys playing up tempo footy with pen taps.
