Our 10 options are all much of a muchness. Neither Donaldson nor Lynagh are clearly better than Lolesio. Whether or not Noah's injury means he won't start the first Lions test, who knows but I'm guessing he probably will if he's healthy.

I'd just forgotten about Carter.

Apparently had surgery last month and back running. Hopes for him to play the last few rounds in Q Cup this year. Des likely to be sacked at the Titans so any peripheral players will be free to leave when new coaches come in.

He's featured a bit in their socials and seems to be getting some love but that doesn't mean much. If he could get picked up by the Reds as their 2nd flyhalf that would be great. But probably commands more money than that.

Agree to a certain extent. Although Noah has started nearly every one of his 30 Tests. Donno has started only a few and a couple of those at fullback which is a totally different ball game. Given the same amount of starting Tests at 10 is the only true way to compare. Coming on for 10 minutes is hardly great Test experience as is managing a game from the start. Lynagh is still too inexperienced for mine too be 'thrown the keys' as most Reds fans suggest. I think we've seen what that did to Noah being thrown in to early. Lynagh has the Spring Tour for starting experience? Pretty clear though that Schmidt has backed these 3 and not been lured into a short remedy picking Foley or the bench 'specialist' JOC (James O'Connor). There is no one close to these 3 imo. Edmed, HMP, Debrezcini, Meredith, Bowen, Creighton and Burey a distant way back. One of those will join Lynagh and Donno on the Spring Tour, probably Edmed. I'd pick Meredith.

Don't see it happening but Foley makes more sense than JOC (James O'Connor). A bench 15 with one start or Foley with 18 starts at 10. He could come in and do a job right away but would it be better? Could be, might not be. End of the day we still don't have a legit 10 and will need a great game plan to manage around it.

I tend to think the selections of guys like IFL, Arnold, Uelese, Vunivalu, Foketi had a bit more to do with it. Lens shoulder being busted is terrible but had no impact on selecting a guy like Hooper at 7...

Nothing like bringing in a 10 that faffed around so much on a penalty kick that a ref overturned it and we lost the Bledisloe. Also nothing quite like giving the ball to the same 10 only to see the clearing kick go 20 metres and we're still stuck in our own half.
Did happen but, he's also done and won a lot more than any 10s in country that haven't won a thing and seem to get buzz sawed as soon as they face any real competition.

I see what your saying, Thing i like about JOC (James O'Connor) is hes played in a lions series, but wouldnt be mad with Foley, we just need someone to steer the ship against a strong lions team

If he wasnt playing we proably would have lost by 20, yes it sucked but you cant deny his impact.

"Thing i like about JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) is hes played in a lions series". So? How did we go in that series? Long time ago. His best games were on the wing for Australia anyway.
