Wallabies 2025

Filipo Daugunu

Chris McKivat (8)
Rugby Au will be keen to capture Lington Ieli, he is Fijian-born Aussie-raised and is on the radar of Fijian Rugby/Drua. Very promising young player that they won't want to miss out on.
This is an article from Fiji Village when the Brumbies were playing the Drua in Fiji:
"Fiji-born Brumbies prop Lington Ieli has indicated his interest in representing the Fiji Water Flying Fijians in the future if given a chance.
Ieli is originally from Rotuma and moved to Australia at a very young age, before he was scouted by the Brumbies Academy, and later went on to represent the Australian U20s last year. The prop forward says if possible, he would play for the Flying Fijians in the future, but for now the focus is on performing for the Brumbies this season."

That ship has sailed IMO. Ieli is a live option for 27 if he keeps progressing.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss him as an option over the next 18months
He started 21 matches last year for Exeter and averaged around 50mins, he is still going strong in a position that Wallabies are lacking.

Yeah look I'd prefer him over Roberston but if they're not gonna do that.

I mean I agree they probably won't, I think if they were going to do it then they should have done it during last years Spring Tour.... but I still think his experience is worth considering.

Yeah I had heard about this. Although he looks like a gun, I wouldn't hate it if he played for Fiji. We owe them a few.

I watched some of their games last year, yes.

but anecdotal evidence aside, Exeter Chiefs at one point had the highest success rate scrum in the league last season. Sio started in 90% of Exeters matches through the season.
Fair enough. Personally I don't think we need to be spending money flying over loose head props when it's not such a point of weakness with the local guys. Aidan Ross is plenty capable. Tight heads on the other hand I would consider
