Wallabies 2026

What do you think of Edmed? Reckon he's got potential...
I just don't see him creating anything for his backline. Didn't see him run once on tour. His kicking it out on half time when the French were down one man was not what you want from your chief playmaker. We could have mounted an attack ... Noah or Lynagh don't run either. It's Carter, Donno and JOC (James O'Connor) for mine. As a smoky, Meredith from the Brumbies. Carter and Donno have pace too. Carter's goal kicking I'm yet to see though since returning.

Have you thought that all year? Should have said something earlier!

I'm struggling to understand how Noah Lolesio isn't our best 10 option at the moment.

If fit he definitely would be...

I think the past year has justified Schmidt's decision to back him as none of the other options have proven to be consistently better, although I don't think that was a tough choice when he was clearly the form Aussie 10 in SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) the past two seasons with Lynagh not far behind this year.

He might get a call up from Japan if needed, but the focus will now be on Lynagh and Gordon, which is going to be interesting with them both at the Reds.

Gordon's goal kicking is still an issue though if we can't slot in another player with that skillset in the backline.

But I still think that inside centre is potentially an option for him.

Edmed has shown glimpses of what he can do, and hopefully the Brumbies system can unlock the best out of him.

I'm not sure what the future holds for Donaldson as he seemed to be on the outer.

He appears to not trusted to start a test (although injury struck him at the worst time when he may have started in SA), and he certainly didn't prove himself when he had the opportunities last year...

A strong SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) season might fix that but without Nic White at the Force he could struggle.

Nathan Hastie signing with the Force is one to watch out for at 9. Played for Otago and the Highlanders, pretty crafty player and 24 years old.
Yep - some notes from Cully back in August

The Force’s signing of Highlanders No 9 Nathan Hastie flew under the radar this week, but its significance became apparent with Nic White’s retirement announcement.

Perth product Hastie, 24, has a huge left boot and towering box kick, but his real strength is his desire to take on defenders in and around the ruck. He does not mind mixing with the big boys and has the pace to make breaks and half-breaks with a view to getting an offload away.
This is exactly where the Wallabies have been strong for the past three weeks, with Tate McDermott (two) and Jake Gordon grabbing three tries. The Force will be delighted but Hastie has the potential to get to the next level.

He's a decent prospect, got usurped by Dylan Pledger at Otago this season, but he looks like a future AB so not that bad. Henry Robertson was in Australia A and looked good in Super Rugby AU, and Moyano looks like he could be awesome so Hastie will have his work cut out for him to even make the 9 jersey his

If the Force plan to continue playing attacking rugby, Hastie could be just the 9 to fit into that plan. Love a half who looks for a quick tap to catch the opposition napping ala Tate, and Aaron Smith.

Robertson is as good as Hastie. Normally a 24 year old with 7 Super Rugby and 8 NPC starts wouldn't really move the needle but because he's coming from NZ we put added value on it.

He improves the Force squad, and with the lack of Halfback depth right now due to a retirement and serious injury almost every 9 is pretty close to the Wallabies squad.

The Kiss transition will be interesting, he does comes from Schmidt school of very structured play.

His added sauce seems to be a propensity to flood parts of the field on attack, with a shitload of effort required from units to get there and be options

I like the style, but how it goes in test rugby, with our cattle ......................................... dunno

and yet so many Wobs coaches end up being more pragmatic and reverting to a tighter, less expansive play to recycle safely
