It's been well covered in the media, he was available, there were injured THPs further up the pecking order, NSW players in lockdown, so it was really a one off thing. Bit of feel good PR as well which I personally found a nice touch

As I said yesterday or the day before, McDermott has been good, and I think they just wanted to see Gordon get a run before tour. Clearly still White and McDermott for me ( and probably the Wallaby coaches).
