Wallabies v England November 1

Should be competitive.
CDC a step down from Hooper but has shown enough to suggest he's test worthy.
If Nasser can nail his throw, then I'm not worried there.
Robertson very lucky to hold off Ross.
I know it's important to win for rankings and pride sake but I see this as another chance to get more caps into the squad to continue to build towards RWC.

lol. Half of those were just about textbook. And a lot were because tackling player didn't rollaway or rolled into where Aus needed to enter legally. After the Hooper example it got progressively less and less valid.
Anyways, I'd be asking the refs to be hot on defensive onside and retreating players from bombs. Or just explain we're worried they're gonna get in the way of our cleaners.

That Nick Champion de Crespigny is on the bench & not Carlo Tizzano, for me is a flag that the Wallabies back row will stay the game, with CdC going into the lock position along with Lukhan Salakaia-Loto.
Playing against Maro Itoje & Ollie Chessum is going to be a hard day at the office for Frost & Williams, & they will be gassed.
At the same time, CdC's preferred position is loose forward & can also replace Rob Valetini if injured (calf problem flaring) or gassed.
No charge for this critical insight ;)
Surely CdC is there because we're still not 100% sure we'll get 80 out of Bobby

Emergency lock cover as well incase 2 locks go down again, but Wilson and Bobby are just as effective (ie passable)

Yes agreed - it's just a bit shit.

Honestly I am a fair bit more frustrated with the Carter Gordon situation. I was okay with him being added to the squad so quickly because I assumed it meant he was fit. The Japan game was really the perfect scenario to ease him back into world class rugby when you consider he's only played about 200mins of footy all year.

Now he's had to fly halfway around the world with some type of injury and will be thrown into the fire against a pretty handy side when he's finally fit. Although I wonder at what stage they decide not to risk him and suddenly he's on a plane back to Ballymore.
From what I read he was fit when he was selected and was going to be named on the bench v Japan and then got injured at training.

Won’t be surprised if they are still managing him post injury but Schmidt’s SOP has been for Valetini to go hard for 50-60 then bring him off.

We'll definitely start as underdogs. Our pack is going to have to do an outstanding job for a good portion of the game, because we don't have the attacking threats we did the same time last year.

I think our starting pack is better than theirs. Of the team that beat the Lions / should have beaten them, we're missing Skeleton and Hooper.

Am I not wrong in thinking this is incredibly bizarre? Not the discussions with the ref with clips behind close doors, we all know teams do this all the time, including the Wallabies...

but to leak it to the media in a tone suggesting that these are actions you can't see from every team at every breakdown, to leak the clips from the meeting which are so obviously from the RFU is really really odd...

I can't recall anything quite like it, apart from the Jaco Johann nonsense. Especially given all but one of the clips are incredibly innocuous to my admittedly gold tinged eyes. Old farts can get stuffed, contemptible behaviour.

Im surprised Robertson's available after being knocked out last week

I assume Borthwick wants to exert whatever pressure he can on the refs - including putting public scrutiny on the Wallabies.

It's another reason to get wound up and put it to the pommie bastards.

Same coach, leaking to the same journo during the 2023 WC - this time the target was a Fijian
