no one has really mentioned Horne as a possibility to play 12? He would fill the crash ball role nicely and has great defence. You could then counter this by having DHP on one wing and Izzy at full back to inject themselves into the line and take pressure off Foley.
He's lost a fair bit of weight since his crashball 12 days. Do you think that 7 or 8 kilos could be a problem?

One of these two teams are going to have a very bad day on Saturday.

My impression with all three of these refs and especially Poite is that once you're on their bad side you are kayaking up a waterfall with no oars.

Jim Tucker has Lilo starting at 12, Folau at fullback with either Taqele or Hodge on the wing. Arnold to make his debut in the row.

If true (50/50 hit rate with these 'expected teams' in my experience) then it's a pretty sane approach, and the one we all expected.

Except Hodge, who would be one of the biggest bolters in recent memory.

Both Poite and Joubert had good RWCs IMO.

With Poite, keep the scrum square and no nonsense early.

Joubert has the 2nd test and Nigel Owen the 3rd.

Hodge on the wing would be a huge surprise especially with 3 specialist back three players in DHP, Morahan and Naya.

What we have been lacking in the lineout is a genuine disruptor on oppositions throws.
Dean Mumm and Fardy have been our best at contesting. How is Arnold on opposition throws in super rugby?

Will Vunipola scrum any straighter than Pythagorus #ScrumStraightJoe Marler?

Will there be a spidercam at Suncorp to measure the illegal angles of the Soap Dodger Front Row, and to monitor the illegal binding of their loose forwards on their props not locks?

Vunipola - aka "the theorem" - always scrums at 90deg. I like it!

Vunipola's Theorem: the scrummaging angles of the England front row always add up to 180deg.

If lilo is pencilled in to play 12, than having folau sub for him in training till he is back from hospital is probably fine. Israel is pretty set in playing 15 and knows how to play it there.

If he does play 15 in defense he would probably play 13 most of the time in attack because he has been the best 13 in super rugby this year by a fair way imho. Had a few beers, not really humble.....

Rugby 360 tonight was indicating Rory Arnold had the second row spot with Simmons, and that Lealiifano would start at 12. He has arrived in Brisbane and will get a couple of training runs with the team apparently. Incidentally, he and his partner had a boy, yesterday (Tuesday).

Benn Robinson explained the preferred nakeup of the tight five very clearly. He expects Sio and Moore to be kept together in the starting side and because of their established combinations with Arnold pushing behind. Similarly, the Reds' combination will be retained at THP and TH Lock.

Only spot they thought there was any conjecture over was the open side winger which will probably go to DHP.

Will be interesting to see if their intelligence is right.

I watched 360 too, I hadn't considered the combination with Sio and Moore in Arnold's possibilities of inclusion in the side. I had him a chance of making a debut later in the series. It sounds like he will be in the starting side, or at worst on the bench. Simmons has one spot locked up and you'd expect Horwill to have the other. That has Mumm being left out or possibly competing for the reserve utility spot with McCalman. I think McMahon will also be in the 23 with a 6:2 bench.

You really only need to read the byline, the rest is utterly predictable. Can't stand the Poms at the best of times but twats like Moore just make me want them to lose by that few extra points....... C'mon Straya, Go You Good Things.

Maybe Moore should have a look at his mate, Stephen "Walrusface" Jones if he wants lazy, reflex, inaccurate use of English:

View attachment 7954

Still can't decide which is more pathetic: the fact he's been writing the same shit for 30+ years, or that he continues to do so despite the Pom & Welsh teams now containing names such as Tuilagi, Vunipola, Faletau, the Pom captain being an old boy of Rotorua BHS & the small army of by-birth Kiwis, Strayans & Sethfrickens each & every one of the "Home" nations have picked in recent years.......

On reflection, though, Jones is just being Jones, the real culprits here are the muppets who continue to allocate column space to this (to borrow your excellent neologism) screaming fucktard.

As above, Moore's drivel makes me want to see Poms beaten by say an extra 3-5, I reckon Jones entitles your lot to an extra 5-8 on top of that. And at least one YC for them to cry over come Sunday.

I'll trade your AR for ours (Rock Peyper Scissors) any day, :).

Poite is a pedant esp at scrum time but generally only early on: do the basics right for the first 20-odd & he'll cut you some slack later in the game. Jackson's not much of a ref IMO but as an AR does have the advantage over RPS (& a few others) of not sticking his nose in where it's not needed & seemingly just because he can.
