Wallabies v Fiji, Sunday, 6 July, 1:30pm @ McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

It hopefully shouldn't make too much difference to the result in this game, but that's a real pain not to be able to get Skelton a bit more time on the field to work his way into the side.

The injuries mean both are likely to miss Sunday’s Test against Fiji in Newcastle on July 6. It could have them racing the clock for the July 19 Lions opener in Brisbane, too.
Doesn't read too badly

Hopefully they are being overly cautious but it doesn't bode well that we've got three matchday 23 players with at least two of those in the starting XV missing from this game two weeks out from the test.

Hopefully it's not the same guy drafting the press release as Liam Wright's from last year

Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt admits he didn't want to rush captain Liam Wright back from a shoulder knock as he makes a change at captain for Saturday's clash with Wales.

Wright picked up the knock during the win in Sydney, eventually replaced by Charlie Cale.

The back-rower pushed to be fit but Schmidt has backed the one-Test Cale to step up in his absence, with Wright likely to return for next week's match against Georgia.

"He'd be a good chance for next week but this week was just too tight," Schmidt said on Wright. "He got a decent whack on the shoulder.

The Lions have played an international team and two super rugby teams with one (as far as I am aware) injury.

The wallabies have managed to double that injury tally without playing a game.

While there looks to be an upward trajectory for professional rugby in Australia at the moment, the quality of our S&C still seems to be a significant issue

Both Tomos Williams and Daly have months+ long injuries. Valetini & Skelton are being cautiously managed for 1 week.

That's also ignoring all the players like Doris who were injured pre-tour and were ruled out of selection. Do we have any Wallabies already ruled out? Don't think so which is quite rare.

Just a few fringe guys like Wright, De Lutiis, Schoupp and Cale I think.

LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Canham have been brought in to cover for Skelton

Sources say he’s in major doubt for the first test

They’re both likely to play in the AU NZ game

no bueno, does that imply that it's a longer injury than just a week? I'd think that Philip would've been there first if not for 'tahs.
