Wallabies v Fiji, Sunday, 6 July, 1:30pm @ McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

molman

John Thornett (49)
Fiji scored on the only occasion they stepped on the opposition 22 with ball in hand
Look at where the Wallabies all are when Lolesio decides to put the kick up. There are I believe 10 of the Wallabies all ~10-15m from the left wing (ie all top of your screen) above Lolesio. He (Lolesio) received some contact, then tries to track back, there are three who chase (Wright, Ikitau, Sua'ali'i) the kick with only one player left (Potter) right on the right wing with a mountain (about 1/2 the field) of space in-between.

In short it was a stupid kick which allowed the Fiji to play the running game they love best, with the Wallabies scrambling and their defensive system in tatters. Then it just become raw play skill of the Fijians v scrambling Wallabies, with players like Jorgersen having to track across from the other side of the field.

In short it was a shocker from Lolesio who should have just punched it into the top left corner..
