Wallabies v France, 7.00am AEDT Sunday Morning

Namerican

Bill Watson (15)
The Wallabies have some seriously talented players, but there are too many holes in this roster and they aren't clinical enough.

- You can't expect to do well in test rugby with no good #10 and losing half your own lineouts (I'm not sure the exact number, but it felt like that).
- I can't say I understand not using Samu/LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), particularly as impact subs? Wilson, I love his effort, but that's about where it ends.
- Coaching wise there seems to be an inability to utilize the talent they have at 12/13. I don't blame Ikitau or Sua'ali'i either, it's clear that all they are meant to do is hit it up now and again. I don't know why you wouldn't try to run some plays with a level of deception to get the ball to Sua'ali'i. Or have him compete for high balls more often. He's 6'5 and jumps higher than anyone on the pitch.

What was the score whsn Len and Valetini conspired to bomb that try? Valetini maybe just overrunning it seeing it was an open line. Reckon that was pretty crucial.

Couple of other cleanout penalties in A zone (Tupou first half and Tizzano late), forwards obviously over eager to avoid being criticised by that old codger on here. Bad news fellas, he's still going to have the shits. Those coupled with botched lineouts meant we got into good positions a lot but botched it.

This has been it the whole time
Coach game plan is shit house
Players not buying into it
Has had injuries but the selections have been very poor right through the season!
Not utilising the talent we have and not being able to develop it
I have Joe going down just as bad as Eddie

but also wallabies will never get any higher any less they can ever find a decent 10

Putting aside the woeful penalty count in 2nd half, the lousy lineouts, the poor not on passes, then the game was a good watch with a lousy 4th qtr 'same as its ever been'.

The aerial shots of the scrum showed Frost and Williams were as loose as a whores drawers, with Harry having to push on only one backside. This is one way to lose scrums unnecessarily.

Edmed is an average super rugby player
Interesting to see if Larkham can guide him ahead next year at brumbies or not
Larkham will give him a good shot at being a 10 in the RWC squad. I'm not as down on him as many here, I see some OK parts of his play and he is not short of guts. Let's see what next year brings.

From the short cameo I thought Thomas was OK but then so is Lonergan. Gordon had a better game but he should be hooked at 40mins we need more speed in the 2nd half.

Many ways to play the game obviously, but we would have to be the only top tier nation who would attempt to win that game with 18 kicks, and a kick pass ratio of 1:9.

Successful international rugby tactics just seem to pass us by

Filipo demonstrated the difference between him and JAS with that scrum move and got us into a scoring opportunity.

If we had another match I would be saying get Potter off the wing, move JAS or Max to the win and Flipio goes to 13.

Larkham has not shown any particular skills at developing other 10's in the past. He was a very talented player and sometimes those who are very talented can't bring that out in other players because it is intuitive for them.

Samu isn't what he used to be, I think Gleeson is ideal for #20 but unfortunately injured, can't understand having a bench spot for Tizzano, when he's a specialist 7 and McReight is one of our best players
