Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Ignoto

John Thornett (49)
I don't get this game plan. We're so deep that we get the ball 20 metres behind the gain line.

I haven't seen an inside ball since the first 30 minutes. Seemed to be working well then?

Well we took the high ball well but no pressure on it.. wins a wins a win.. glad for the match before Scotland..

Thank God for that.

Not many players have been good for the whole 80.

Valetini & Rodda probably the only ones.

Edit: 5 in a row though and it’s been a long time since we’ve done that so still have to be happy with that.

Fairly shit from Aus. Were never really in the ascendancy. Still, no shame in it. Japan are no longer really "Japan" Japan. More a frankenmess of limitlessly rich multi-national funding for facilities etc, megabucks world class coaching, meticulous and fanatical attention to detail and shameless Island poaching.

Rodda and Philips presided over a rickety old lineout.

Thought Nic White was way too tentative and conservative. Gave Japan all the time in the world to align defensively.
