The ref keeps yelling tackle and essentially instructing them to play within the laws of the game, but it completely slows our ruck speed and ability to recycle the ball.

What I find so wild is that I knew - in real time - like I’m sure we all did, that the try was illegal.

How do the refs justify the wages? Why do they need the TMO to make a call that is entirely within a basic understanding of the laws of the game?
