I’m reading a few pages here of Lynagh criticism in this thread alone let alone the last matchday thread, i’m not sure it’s limited at all.

I dont disagree with the comments on his mistakes here, and i too would have started Lolesio and Donaldonson before him.. but just disagree with this sentiment that he is above criticism when there’s a few people doing just that.

I’m going to move on from the nepotism discussion - other than to say some of the comments, IMO, have pretty clearly inferred Lynagh wouldn’t be in the Wallabies if he wasn’t Michael’s son.

I think scrutiny of performance is fine. But there also needs to be context with regards to selection. Lynagh isn’t in the test team because he is an established super star. He is in the side because he is the best option we have available to run Schmidt’s game plan, according to Schmidt. Holding high-performance environments standards also means if you’ve had a few extra years experience plus extra time in and around the squad and yet you aren’t the first pick - maybe there are reasons and maybe that’s on you.

It is not here. Forums are gibberish, me included! More the Stan commentary and media reporting. Anyway, it is what it is. I hope what ever team is selected beats these British and Irish Lions in the final Test. . We definitely are good enough.

Change tack somewhat (although still iinvolving Lynagh) just listening to the Between Two Posts interview with Jorgenson reminded me he is only 20. Sua’ali’i only 21 & Lynagh 22. All of them had some mistakes in them but hopefully a good foundation for our backline to go into the next couple of years.

Hugely disappointing, hopefully they use this as a chance to develop Nonggorr as we need some real depth at tighthead as right now there isn't really anyone you trust behind Allan, which is a big concern

Does Aiden Ross play both sides of the scrum or just LH? Guessing he covers TH as he was brought in as injury cover for AA.

No he's only ever played loosehead at a professional level. My guess is he was brought in to get him up to speed for the SA tour as Slipper will need a break at some stage

While I certainly hope I'm wrong, I have a bad feeling about this weekend. History in any sport tells us it's really hard for teams to get themselves back up after an absolute heartbreaker like that

Appreciate the above commentary that Slipper may be injured.
However, if it transpires that he is not injured, I strongly suspect that Slipper will shift to tighthead prop and Aidan Ross will come onto the beach at loosehead.

Surely Tupou will come in. He hasn’t been fantastic in his 3 tour games, but he hasn’t been terrible either, and we need to consider the primary role of the tight head prop, which is to hold up the scrum. How he fits into the broader game plan I’m not sure, but he’s got plenty of experience so surely that is going to count ahead of the prospect of getting munted in the scrums.

This is why I think we need to bring in some fresh hungry players to lift the squad, such as Pietsch, Tupou, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Donaldson, Paisami etc
