Why? Lambert was Australian born and bred and only left Australia at 20. If anything it was another one Scotland tied to pinch
which vindicates what TT said

The response about Lambert was on the basis of Bob Peters saying that if someone plays under 20s for one nation and then plays for another nation a transfer fee should be paid.

I assume it was pointing out that using that criteria to determine transfer fees wouldn't be ideal. I don't think there was any intention to say that Australia poached Lambert from Scotland.

I'd imagine a transfer fee may only apply if the player is capped by the next nation? Personally see no particular issue with Ottavio transferring to Scotland, but I'm sure it stings when Australian born and raised Sione is scoring tries against his home country in front of his home crowd.

It's funny this comes on the back of the Tuipulotu announcement I don't think Tuipolotu was in the equation.

I think the Randwick kid Oniti Finau has done some work with the Tahs, Tomasi Maka from Gordon was with Moana last year and Tahs before but has been released.

Lipini Ata is Brumbies aligned but in the 20's this year and played for Eastwood last year.

Bryn Edwards played last year in U20's and played second grade this year and then Charlie O'Kane is playing first colts for Easts.

Beyond this I can't think of too many very promising hookers around the country? Might have to look overseas?

Gonna need to find someone from overseas. Lot of kids otherwise.

Wow! What the Tahs would give to have Mahe Vailanu on deck for next year!!

Also a massive loss in terms of leadership for a young team who have already lost Sinclair, Bell, Foketi, Leota, Tupou, Gleeson and Edmed. Jake Gordon's fitness for next year is becoming more and more important.

It’s a thin position across the country tbh. Craig at the Reds isn’t much to note either but they have 3 Super Rugby standard 2s. Further pushes the thought that Horton could land at the Tahs.

I can only say good luck to the other Tuipolotus. I don’t think they hold a candle to their oldest brother and Scotland are happy to take a stab and also keep Sione happy.

If you are a young front rower in Australia you should really think about becoming a Hooker. Good path and will be plenty of jobs.

Hopefully McKellar can get into Folau Fainga'a's ear as obviously now there will be a national top up somewhere.

Other than that Connal McInerney, Uelese or Kaituu maybe?
