I don’t reckon Williams has any idea. Gamble hands were on the ground past the ball.

If he is erring in any particular direction I think it's mostly towards making the game a bit more interesting than it otherwise might be. I reckon he understood the assignment and I'm ok with it. If he was this loose for a Wallabies or Super Rugby game it's effigies and heads on pikes though.

Paul Williams must have had the pre-game sit down with RA about making sure we don’t get another blowout.

It’s been a pretty average ref display on both sides but you do feel like the home team has been favoured a bit

Gamble playing like prime McCaw has been nice to watch.
