Waratahs v British & Irish Lions - Saturday, 5 July @ SFS

Uh huh

Always thought he was wasted as a winger tbf. He threw a lovely left to right cut-out pass tonight. He's always had the makings of a flyhalf, having played there in JID for a good couple of years.

Honestly I increasingly can't tell the difference between the two positions these days. They're both playmakers and distributors who very often don't stand at first receiver, rather tucking in behind the first or second pod. The main difference in most cases is that the 15 is a little bit faster. Tom Wright in particular is just a flyhalf GTI.

Lions 20 turnovers lost and Tahs 10 turnovers won is probably the story of the match, for a game that was a comfortable loss, but kind of felt a win for NSW

Tahs D did the job mostly, but 38 missed tackles and 80% success rate is a bit ugly. Kellaway a game high 6 misses (although he made 17 which is a mad number for an outside back)
Imagine what Luke Reimer is going to do to this rabble. I still hope the Brumbies bench him and bring him on at around the 50 minute mark when the Lions are shuffling the backline. They're going to struggle to string four phases together.

Because it’s the best of England, Ireland and Scotland all of which are ranked above the Wallabies, who had played three games now coming in

The Tahs were missing seven or eight Wallabies and were widely expected to lose by 40-50+

If you always root against Aus rugby and young up and comers like Lancaster than why be on the forum?

I was worried for Barrett before the game - genuine safety concern having to step up so far in terms of scrummaging quality.

But now that he’s got through it what an experience for the young man.

Im pretty guttered he left, I was seriously hoping he would become the Brumbies 10.. I thought he had all the skill set to be a brilliant 10, which has translated to being a brilliant winger/fullback as well.

He will be one of the starting wingers verse the Wallabies.

Watched game this morning, was rugbyed out by 10pm last night, club, MABs and ABs. Thought Tahs went pretty well, certainly nothing to hang heads about. Was interested watching Tupou in those scrums, and you can see why he was getting pinged, On Tahs ball he stays quite straight, on Lions ball he was angling in from start, was obviously trying to put squeeze on Lions hooker, which all tightheads are meant to do, just perhaps wasn't getting it right, he's not looking there at moment. But basically he played like an average Super rugby prop, perhaps he just needs to refine things. Gamble (actually most of Tahs pack) gave it heaps, was good to see, I enjoy teams lifting for these games.
