Where is Riley Winter going to in Ireland?

From my quick googling, he's off to play for Shannon RFC, in the All Ireland League.

Apparently Winter and Gussy Taylor (Winters teammate at Wests, the blond halfback and Force U/20s captain), 2 of the most promising players in WA, had their Future Force contracts not renewed. Its a bit surprising seeing as the Force are banging on about looking local first the elsewhere. You could even argue he outplayed Michael Ruru in the GF and Ruru has apparently been signed for next year. I know Taylor is still training with the Spirit and Future Force.

At least a wave of Western Australian players are starting to push up around all over the place. It's a disappointment we can't keep them all, but it is showing that the talent pathways are producing and with the Original Force players who have stayed and made Perth home, their big life step and decision in coming to the Force is starting to show in youngsters taking the game to the world.
The best players in world rugby will be coming from WA over the next 10yrs due to the expose to coaches from all over the world creating a broad coaching mindset and teaching from a young age. As opposed to being stuck in one train of thought.

Just quietly, what a perfect style assistant, masses of experience across the board in a huge variety of Aussie and foreign setups, as head coach, defence, attack, forwards and set piece. I wonder what he portfolio will be at the Force.

And based on the production levels of WA and VIC in recent times for rugby, the only team that should be canned from Super Rugby is the Brumbies. For such a long time, have continually failed to a) produce local talent b) become financially stable. With a small market, they have clearly topped out in regards to viewer interest and will never grow. At least the force and brumbies are churning out quality local born and bred players, which should be the key foundation criteria in a nationwide blueprint.

Very optimistic about signing Joe Barakat. Certainly will bring a wealth of experience with him to help guide Wessels.

Don't know too much about Joe but apparently he is very highly regarded. In spite all of the doom and gloom I feel optimistic about WA rugby in the medium term. We just need to keep that production line going and make sure the coaching standards match it. People love the game over here and it's growing every year. It's time for the Force to repay that.

In Europe : Zac Holmes, Olly Hoskins, Jake Ball, Riley Winter, Ryan Hodson, Kieran Longbottom.
In Australian Rugby: Kyle Godwin, Nick Jooste, Dane Haylett-Petty, Ross Haylett-Petty, Kane Koteka, Richard Hardwick, Jermaine Ainsley, Ryan Louwrens, Erick Vasukicakau, Cruz Ah Nau, Brad Lacey, Jayden Ngamanu, Tom Sheminant, Russel Burgess, Sham Vui,
Mees Erasmus, Michael Ruru, Luke Burton, Harry Scoble, Onehunga Havili, Hadleigh May, Anaru Rangi, AJ Alatimu, Ammon Matuauto, Kieran Stringer.
In the NRL: Curtis Rona, Waqa Blake, Chance Peni.

I know some will point out that a few of those guys were born overseas etc, but my point is they all have spent significant time in and around WA rugby and the Forces academy pathways. And guess what? There are more coming!

for some reason I casually fling bits of monkey doodoo at the Force (see pie chart above) on occasion without really knowing anything about them but goddamn that Forum is awesome. It’s booming. Similar size as this one. They’re so enthused. Frankly, I’m jealous. Stupid Auckland Blues have nothing like that.

Good to see an Australian coach with overseas experience coming back. I really hope that he and Wessels can do some good things with the Force (with the exception being when they play the Reds, that time they can play valiantly but lose, every other game they can win).

The Force seem to have a pretty decent lineup these days, if Jono Lance can stay on the field then I think their backline can spark, and as noted by others here WA are producing quite a number of players. To me it would be mad to get rid of the Force, it's a long term investment for growth of the game.

I read on that TWF forum link that Sindeberry aims to better engage with the dormant rugby supporters rather than generic sports fans and I think this is a good idea. Perhaps they should go to every active club player - junior and senior, and offer a really sharp family package for Force membership so if you are a player, no matter what age, your family gets offered a full season membership at a really cheap price. They may lose some profits from some of the existing members who would take up this offer but they would likely get a lot more people along than currently.

They have been shafted a bit by the draw. There is only one game that is in a really family friendly time with most kickoffs at 8pm. The early game is the Kings.

I have three free membership for my kids 3, 7 and 9 who like to come to the rugby, but finishing at 10 on a Friday before Saturday sport or the Saturday after being up early is hard work

Most of the Kiwis in Perth still hold strong allegiances to the Super Rugby team from where they are from. If you watch our crowd numbers they usually spike when we host the NZ teams and is why the Force asks to host as many Kiwi teams as possible. The british and South African ex pats are more supportive of the Force but the disconnect to a lot of ex pats remains. To most though the Force is their second team they support after their true home team and usually this is only enough to purchase single game tickets instead of memberships.

Good one ... The Brumbies for there Market do well, can't say the same about Perth and Melbourne.. At least we win games..
