He's a good quality signing, but with Swain and WIlliams as starters I'm not sure the Force need to be spending massively on individual locks. The big question is probably how much of the cap it's cost them to get a current Pumas lock as their 3rd string.
Still, he's an upgrade on Carter and they were very much in need of locks with his retirement and having already been short at times this year.

Hopefully too, we see a good showing from Faifua for the Tasman Mako.

Praying the Force can find the next Ollie Sapsford in the centres. The current juniors and pathways system is simply not bringing through the talent in the centres we need and have across the Shute Shield, Hospital Cup, John I Dent etc. Hopefully some talented Aussie qualified centres can be found in the upcoming NPC. They will likely be there, just need to find them.

Reasonably solid signing to build off of. Nothing sensational, but he's a solid pro and at 24 should be able to grow from here. It's also always good to see a side like the Force focus on bringing in/back players with a strong connection to Perth/WA where possible.

Good pickup Force, very well done. Good young running halfback coming back to Aus after getting some world-class coaching from Jamie Joseph. You would think with Whitey turning 36 next year he will be pushing for the starting spot. Hopefully has a good season in the NPC with Otago.

Yeah that’s the big thing, he’s had three years now and last year of his contract and has only won 13 of 42 super rugby games

I believe that while wins are important, his KPI's are much broader than that and include amongst others the ability to attract Australians back to Australia, increasing the number of Wallabies at the Western Force and I believe the most important criteria of any coach the ability to make a player a better player than he was or currently is, and on all of these he scores well.

Pro sports team is about winning at the end of the day. That delivers crowds and sponsors. Right now with an equal tenure he’s worse than DC right? Can’t be a charity case for Twiggy for ever.
U19s haven’t improved which is an indication of junior recruiting because locally they won’t come through. Brumbies face the same issue yet 19s are thriving. Force have picked up an Argentinian (good player) and two fringe pros who are Aus eligible but could also be not sighted in a season and we’ll never think of them again.

Unfortunatly the reality of it is that other Super Rugby teams are not stagnating and resting passively, all are moving forward and improving year on year or at least trying to do so.
And that is is why it is so hard to beat NZ teams as they are not idlly waiting for us to pass them by.....
By the way: What is Australia win loss ratio against NZ at a national level over the past twenty years? But guess what we all support them and get behind them every time they take the field on our behalf.
So for me as long as the Force keep trying and giving it their best shot, I will be continue to add to my twenty years of watching, supporting and defending them for as long as I am able to do so.
In relation to TGoR's last paragraph WA is an AFL state, always has been always will be. Being close on 4,000 km from the Eastern States recruitment at U19 and lower level is very difficult from eleswhere, Brumbies a bit closer than we are. That being said at least we are able to field a team and accept that we may be the poorer cousins talent wise but hopefully the Force find a rough diamond or two every couple of years to make it through the system.

From an International perspective he deserves to go out on his own terms and I hope the rumour that he is starting comes to fruition, if this is the case.
From a Force point of view, I really hope he stays for next year to blood and mentor Hastie and Robinson (which I do expect as he has only recently just signed for next year only), and if not then I hope that he starts transisitioning into a coaching role within the WA rugby eco system.

Fair points in the last paragraph but it also sounds like a conceding of mediocrity and signing second level talents will be the path. I don’t think the Storm have that idea when they go after Harry Grant as a Schoolboy and others from NQ.
Would be huge if it’s all forms with IFL gone. Two serviceable 9s and an un tested rookie as the group.
