Western Force 2026

The Ghost of Raelene

John Eales (66)
NPC might be the place to find some guys for next season. Not sure many in Super Rugby Aus are available. Reds and Brums are playing mostly signed guys and NSW in the same boat of needing backrow depth so would likely have first crack at the guys they have played in games like Frans.

Force should be on the hunt for some Aussies in the Welsh meltdown that may occur. Ryan Smith, Max Douglas would make any side immediately stronger.

Wilson

Tim Horan (67)
Vaiuta Latu would be the ideal replacement as a 6 / 8.
I think it's probably a year or two early for him at super level, you wouldn't want to see much more than a few bench stints from him just yet. Fitness is a big work on. I also think he's probably going to be hard to lure away from QLD just yet, given he has only just emerged on the scene. In a year or two if he finds himself blocked than he'd be ripe for the picking, but right now not so much.

From QLD they'd have an easier time getting Kohan Herbert or a guy like Muller who is getting closer to his make or break year, but they're less perfect replacements. Chalyton Frans in NSW is the other that would be a more ready to go pickup, but seeing as the decks have been cleared at NSW he might want to try his luck at home first. he migth end up a bit more available if Lachlan Hooper is making his way to the tahs post NRC though.

Filipo Daugunu

Chris McKivat (8)
I have mentioned him before here. Arese Poliko the blindside flanker for Taranaki is Australian-born but grew up in Samoa/NZ. He is a big athletic backrower. Got good hands and his work rate is good. Would fit in really well at the Force. Similar to Hoskins Sotutu at the Blues and Ekuasi at the Force.
