Un-Australian Activities 2019

In NZ, even better. I would have thought the Sunwolves first away win would have happened in our world! I'm actually really happy for them, I do wonder though if the team without the national players is better than the one with them? Probably a discussion for another thread..

Jeez. I'm wishing I'd have placed that bet on the sunwolves at 21-1..

Tell me about it and I thought I was being a risk taker taking their +25.5 line at $1.90.

I have tickets to see Tahs v Sunwolves in Newcastle. I admit when I first saw the Sunwolves as the opponents earlier this year I was like come on this will be one sided. But after only losing by 1 to the Tahs & now the big win against the Chiefs I have hopes its going to be a very entertaining game.

A lot will depend on whether the Sunwolves have their Test squad players back. Maybe I am wrong, but I reckon that the second-stringers are actually a more potent combination. Hungry, and committed.

Would like to see that same mentality applied to some other sides in our conference....

Spanish commentary is great. Throwing out random Spanish words I know ("muchacho's", has appeared a few times). Getting worded up over any possible slight in the Jaguares favour. Heavy Spanish accents on non-Latin names. Borderline "goooooooooooal" reaction to penalty kicks. Fantastic stuff.

EDIT: And they have an absolute fiesta when the Jaguares score.

Can Cowley-Tuioti please just f*ck off to Europe or Japan? Seriously. I can't recall any positive meaningful contribution he's made over the last few years, and is wasting a space that could've been used on someone decent like Olmstead.

EDIT: TBF he might've just provided his first worthwhile positive contribution in dislodging the ball and giving the Blues one last crack.

Just turned it on to see the Blues concede a tight head scrum 5 out from the Argentine line and promptly lose the game. Is there anymore of a Blues like finish?

Well that was interesting, as zero said that was a shame that the home broadcaster suddenly lost ability to have replays when it was Jaguares try, (I didn't think anyone was in touch, but ....), and then when Blues get a scrum put in on full time, f*** me if Akira doesn't try and get ready to pick and drive, and Blues get blown off ball!!

The depressing thing is they actually forced a TH penalty from the Argentine scrum immediately beforehand. They gambled and, being the Blues, lost on a scrum when a tap probably would have been their best shot.

another disappointing year coming.

Depends what your expectations are. But I wouldn't necessarily say so. It's a given we were never going to top the conference or secure second spot. However Cooper has seemingly ushered in a return to the Foster era Chiefs. That means we can potentially aim for 4th place in NZ, as we've played the best team in NZ (and the tournament), what is likely the best team in SAF, the Argentine team team and have at least been competitive in two of the three. And that was done with an obnoxious travel schedule. On the other hand, not even Mohammad bin Jesus al Buddha would know what the f*ck the Chiefs are doing.

Akira had a fine game. His defence was terrific - he has developed a nice short passing game, and he wasn't even involved in niggle this week.

Plenty of heart shown by the Blues just no brains. They don't know when to offload and when not too.

The backline just isnt right - though Faiane made a better fist of 13 - Otere hasn't been bad but i'd like to see Plummer get a proper start at 10.

Akira was ok, I only pointed it out as the most frustrating thing with him is he can do so much stuff well, but has brain farts where he has to be the glory boy and doesn't do the basics (like push in the scrum as long as he should), a little like Higgers who plays for the Reds, and doesn't get much test rugby!

Bit of a stretch to blame that last scrum on Ioane. The ball popped out the side before it all fell to shit. If anything you'd blame the halfback or hooker.

No I blame the loosies Derpus, because none of them looked they were bound on tight. Just saying Akira has form for these things, and he could be so good if he did his core role to go with his other good stuff!
