Tahs made the semi last year because Cron came on board and worked out how the forwards could give Naiyaravoro and Folau space. Scrum, lineout and maul have improved out of sight. I wonder if Simmons’ career best form, Hanigan’s rise to jackaling pest defensively, Holloway’s coming of age, Fitzpatrick’s lineout accuracy, Johnson-Holmes rise to become one of the next big things in Aussie rugby and Dempsey’s development at the Sydney Rays 2016 to Bledisloe man of the match 2017 had anything to do with Cron?

Are you saying Gibson is without blame? He wants the pack we have.

Le Roux should have been given a go by now. Not McCauley nor Staniforth who offer no go forward. If he failed he would still be ahead of these two.

Latu is too hot headed and gives away stupid penalties. I would not have even kept him. Yes he can scrummage but that is about it.

Hanigan has had a few good moments but is still Hanigan. Still does dumb things and drops the ball. He is not a lock so he shouldn't be there.

Gibson is the Boss it all rests on him.

The Tahs should not have re-signed him before a ball was kicked

I hope Cron stays as he is a coach of the future.
Look a good big man will beat a good small man but you can't pick a team based on a set of scales. If Le Roets was as good enough player he would have been been picked by now. Cron as s forwards coach would have s big say in that call. He's only on as supplimentaty contract

Rubbish.

I know people who have seem him play he IS good enough and a lot better than several players the Tahs keep trying. He was good in the trials.

If he isn't good enough then it's back to poor recruitment.

Why do the media circus saying the Tahs have bought size and grunt if he isn't good enough??

He is big and strong but that is the problem.

That is not the Gibson game plan

It's certainly curious he hasn't even made the bench (as far as i am aware).

It seems quite obvious that being big in itself is not enough for Gibson, he wants a level of dynamism as well, look at the much maligned Staniforth. What was it 20 tackles?

Le Roux came on for the Marlins off the bench on Saturday

Possibly the largest human being in the world. He looked like a giant playing against kids

He just sort of trundled about though, as I recall.

That was by far Staniforth's best game. He was hardly crying out for selection on his past performances.

Crying out? No, but we need any upgrade to be an actual upgrade.

He reminds me of Hanigan, immense workrate, but needs consistently better efforts

The thing is, I think you can teach\coach better individual efforts, but I don't think you can teach workrate

Weird to say FP, I think the exact opposite. The force of character that drives a player to make a personal mark on a game isn't something I'd consider coachable, but the desire to get up and go again, and again, and again is something that I would consider coachable. Look at the difference between Skelton under Gibson vs Skelton at Saracens.

Is Skelton at Sarries actually that much better? I suspect hes the same player but a little fitter. He was always quite talented and a little underappreciated here.

Pass it to Dunning!

English rugby is full of Australians who miraculously become standout players the moment they arrive. I'm becoming convinced it's just that the standard of rugby in that competition isn't as good, so they look more impressive.

Not to mention Brock James in France. Still playing, after all these years. Kicks goals.

Some people just develop in different environments with different drivers. Age and maturity are also a factor. Prime example being Nemani Nadolo. It took him six or so different professional environments before he made a good fist of it.
