Reg, he was well out of his depth in that first game, but I didn't think he improved that much in later games too.

Tepai Moeroa is saying all the right things about coming back to rugby. Really great to hear a young man speaking so passionately about Aussie rugby. Hopefully he picks up the running lines and defensive patterns fairly quickly- he’ll add some real starch to the Waratahs’ midfield.

I have to disagree. While he improved and became more comfortable he was still on a very steep learning curve throughout the competition. I'm looking forward to see how far he's come in this years edition. He'll have nearly a full season of grade under his belt and a successful U20s campaign.

Yep. Certainly sounds like he wants to be in the game and has a passion for it. Dare I say it that the article made it sound like he was in League for the money but is returning to Rugby because he really wants to make it in the game. Saying that, if he makes the Wallabies he'll be able to ask a nice price come time to go north.

Tepai has had a few concussion and other injury problems in League that have stilted his career. I watched him off the bench when Parramatta beat Canberra in Darwin a couple of weeks ago and he was carrying very strongly and getting through a lot of work around the park. I’d like to see him at inside centre for the Tahs. It’s been a while since we’ve had a big bollocking centre that can get us over the gain line early and will help us shift away from this lightweight, mobile setup which has now been worked out.

Looks more like a 13 than a 12 to me. He has got a bit of speed with some good footwork and was impressive in the trials at the start of the season. He’s never had consistent game time for the Waratahs and if he was given the 13 jersey at the start of the season he may well be quite a dangerous player.

With U20's World Cup experience under their belt, I would expect Harrison and Donaldson to push Mack Mason for some game time at 10 next year. They are both attacking 10's with strong kicking games and are both competent goal kickers.
I watched Donaldson dominate schoolboy rugby at my son's school throughout 2017, and he can definitely sniff out a try.

In fairness few games or so he did but then improved towards back end. Harrison to my mind though is not an obvious starter at 10. Certainly Mason not either. Do tend to agree that Taylor Adams would be better starting 10 prospect at this point then either Mason or Harrison.

For me Harrison and Mason are definitely not 10 ready starters Tahs management will bet the house on. Harrison and Donaldson are the development players and Mason probably on his way out. Maybe Mason could get a gig with a GRR side for next year and prove his worth with some decent game time. Recruiting a 10 has to be high on the radar and yes would have thought Adams possible option on assumption not many quality 10's available on the open market that European or Japanese rugby would be snapping up on big dollars.

If McGahan signs then we have a lot of 10s (but not much experience). I agree with the posts about Adams being a good option for now but he too is an unknown quantity at Super Rugby level

Yes best option would be to sign up a 10 who is a proven performer at this level but reality is not many of those options available for the price tag the Tahs can pay hence a plan B strategy likely. I would sign Adams before McGahan personally....
It will help to have a big 12 to hand the ball off to and a 9 who can easily do a load of the kicking. They won't be perfect, but I see no other choice but to back them

Given our roster next season will be a rebuilding season at best, i see absolutely no reason not to take a punt on a young player who could develop into a consistent starter rather than recruit a mediocre player to fill a hole.
I would only sign another 10 if it was clear that they were high quality. No one like that going around as far as i can tell.
