Wallabies vs All Blacks 10th August @Optus Stadium Perth

Just generally think coaching team who are currently running at about highest percentage of wins etc while not being perfect(because no coach is), but suspect they have a fair bit more idea about players , and how they want the game played than I do!
By the way it not new mate, when Hart etc was coach and weren't picking South Island players, by geez they all copped shit too, by all the experts from down south. I have been around for a couple of years and seen it all.

It's got nothing to do with Auckland v Canterbury - I was just using examples of players they either haven't tried or tried and discarded. Heck Grant Fox is an AB selector and he has made some weird calls - trying to make Dmac a 10 and selecting Brett Cameron for example!

The recent record of the ABs is not very impressive - over the last 12 months ABs have played Boks 3 times, Ireland once and England once and the record is 2 wins 2 losses and a draw. Those 2 wins were by the skin of their teeth too.

The fact is the players the AB selectors have failed at 6 - they have hitched their wagon to players who have failed (Dixon, Squire, Fifita) whilst other players get no or few chances.

i don't understand the JOC (James O'Connor) love, TK was the form 13, is the form 13 and the team needs to work out strategies to get him in the game. If we want to punt on someone (and f*cked if I know why we are doing this in a Bled match) Petaia appears the logical option

Yeah agree FP... If JOC (James O'Connor) is just a punt, then throw in someone like Petaia instead

I'll be interested to see if the team announced is as per Panda's leak. Usually they get 2 or 3 wrong but I suspect JOC (James O'Connor) won't be one of the errors. MK will be 11 for a start, and if the other is Hodge he will be 14.

Mate, I admire your perseverance, but I'd just give up. We've reached the point of "good ol' rural Nu Zullund rolls uts sleeves up und gets stuck unto the hard yakka, while anyone frum a town bugger than Matamata us just a soft townie that's afraid orf a but orf hard work". Next talking points will be how everything was better in the 60's, and then to sing the praises of Lion Red and Wiakato Draught. Just leave it be. Not even the 'Strayans deserve that level of punishment.

When Petaia is match fit, for sure. He has played a bit of club rugby, give him time.

He is an upgrade on Hanigan, and is doing a load of the dog work that goes unappreciated
I would say that Hanigan got through a ton more work without as much grunt. He was much more accurate.
LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) seemingly has it locked down. The only other person given a run has been Jones for 10 minutes?

For all the talk of trying other options there have been few alternatives trialed in most positions.

I think LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) suffers from the same type of issues that many Wobs deal with. We are more concerned about what they don't contribute than what they do contribute

Samu would add dynamism but we would lose linout skills, I think that is more important, I want to see Samu as the bench cover

Wayne Smith reported the same team in 'The Australian'

Has he? The article I've read by him only really mentions JOC (James O'Connor) set to be 13, the new halves to be White and Lilo, and that Coleman is 'likely' to come onto the bench, also that the AB's refuse to believe that Pocock won't be in the 23. Fox also report the same team, however they also have the incorrect 11/14 numbering so I assume they are just running off Panda.

Anyway, we'll know in a few hours.

I understand what you saying Kiwi, they tried Dixon (and he looked bloody good at super level, but no higher), I have my doubts about Fifita too, I disagree about Squire, I thought he was best 6 in NZ. They also hitched their wagon to Luatua, but he was actually part of ABs when he signed to go overseas, he didn't go to 2015 WC as there was a certain Jerome Kaino there, he played against Italy at 8 in 2016 and then beginning of 2017 announced he was off to Bristol , so perhaps you have forgotten a few facts mate! Shields also turned down a chance to get called back in as he had signed overseas. So really you only upset because Akira not there?

Does 'form' mean that he's performed incredibly average for the Wallabies for the last 2-3 years? Good defender but I can't remember him breaking a tackle ever.

I really hope that's not the team!

Why would Fainga'a be dropped for Latu? Fainga'a hasn't done a thing wrong and I thought Latu worked well coming on with Tongan Thor with 30 mins to go.

Dropping TK makes no sense either. Not his fault the game plan is hit the ball up at 12. His defence has been great. JOC (James O'Connor) should be trailed in the second half.

I can't understand why we are sticking with Hodge. Guess there's always one golden boy that's un droppable but he hasn't shown anything. Literally try anyone else there, but I'd like to see Banks given another chance. I'm hoping the 11/14 thing means it's wrong.

Everyone thinks that LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is a lock and not a 6. But Jones and Dempsey have failed to fire as well. Maybe just keeping the shirt warm for Pocock. I'll have to watch LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) more closely as I'm not convinced.

9 and 10 I'm not fussed about as I think Genia/White and Lilo/Foley are pretty interchangeable and will all play big roles coming up.

Glad Coleman has been given another shot. I know he's been out of form but I'm hoping he can find what he used to deliver. I'd rather someone aggressive than Simmons.

Where do these leaks come from? And then do reporters read this forum and run with it? Hoping some of these aren't true cause it's not everyday the All Blacks come to Perth and I'm hoping for a close game.

I'd rather see TPN or Uelese get a bench run. Latu however provides that extra breakdown presence which they are lacking in the current set up.

Interresting that Kerevi is the best 12, but will move into 13 for attack...So basically he is 13 but JOC (James O'Connor) is a smarter defender wider. Also hints that perhap Kerevi was struggling to distribute effectively in 12. Huge individual stats but impacting those outside him.

Usually it's from a reporter who's at a training run and forms an opinion based on what he's seeing. But the errors usually come about because they are running the bench players with the starting players (for obvious reasons) and in some cases they haven't even made a decision yet so are looking at the options.

He is miles ahead of every other 13 in the country on produced form in Super Rugby, being shit in the wobs is the reality of being in a shit team

The lack of space he is provided is more a function of test rugby and rush defense, we need better systems to get him involved
