RWC Pool D - Wallabies vs Uruguay -Saturday October 5 2019 @ 2:15pm

He's easily the best 13 in the squad, but he doesn't work in a partnership with Kerevi, who dies with the ball too often...

So we need at least one player in the centres with the ability to pass.

Controversially, I would suggest that Kerevi's place in the team shouldn't be guaranteed as for every good ball carry he displays he's spoiled numerous other opportunities in failing to pass, and his defence isn't as strong.
12 Oconnor/To'omua 13 TK 22. Kerevi

Are they still awarding MOTM awards off viewer votes?

Regardless, Kuridrani was easily one of the best on ground today.
I’m not sure how they award them at this RWC. I thought he was pretty good, hard to judge against that opposition though.

Yeh I agree and worry is we just don’t know who is best 10 option for what is most critical role
I think that is one thing that isn’t Cheika’s fault. All our options are solid at soup level and that’s it. I actually think it’s worth chucking JOC (James O'Connor) in there v Georgia and see what happens. I mean we did nearly win a Lions series with him there if it weren’t for moulded soles. ;-). We’ve got nothing to lose IMO

And i’d partner Genia with him:

9. Genia
10. O’Connor
12. To'omua
13. Kuridrani

22. Kerevi 10 mins into the second half

If they were wearing long sleeve jerseys (not the old cotton style) but the new style with the little rubber buttons that are on the chest from elbow to wrist would that help with all the knock ons?

Only saw about 60 minutes of the game but two blokes impressed me with their footwork and ability to slide through contact: Dempsey and Petaia. I'd suggest we should be seeing more of them in this tournament. I thought TT was excellent when he came on. Ran some really good angles and was a damaging runner up the middle. Get enough of that from your forwards in the loose and all of a sudden the opposition rush defence doesn't look quite so effective.

Fairly ordinary performance by Australia tbh. A hell of a lot of ball watching by the Australians - which has been present in all of their games.

I reiterate what I said in one of the other threads, the Australians look like they haven't been training with the ball in hand. Or they are fatigued and flat. I don't know.

The truly baffling thing though is that other teams clearly know how to disrupt the Australians play (attack and defence), and the Australians persist in doing absolutely *nothing* about it.

*edit* I thought Beale had a pretty good game, Petaia played well, the locks as well.

ah, if it wasn't a struggle then they would have put on 60, methinks, how'd you go .

I'm looking at this through a very specific lens to see the positives. And that is the AB's game against Canada. We didn't play well but beat Uruguay 45-10. A fairly comfortable outcome. The ABs beat Canada 63 nil. Uruguay are the better team (this is based on performance and results between the two). If we played well we could have put at least another 15 on them. Hence, we did okay.

I really need to believe we did okay.

TK awarded Motm

Well I just do not see how he fits in top 23.yes others see it after today’s performance. No I am not anti TK as bloody good rugby player but with oz team balance just not still sure how fits in match day 23. And suspect he is more destined for top quality super rugby player from here then wallaby player. Would be more than happy for him to prove me wrong btw

Kerevi is gone next year, so no doubt Kuridrani will be back since he's been a consistent performer in the 13 jersey for a number of years.

He just needs a passing 12 inside him.

I’d definitely like to see TK at 13 next week against a better Georgian outfit. He played well but Kerevi equally would have looked a million dollars running over some poor amateurs.
